Hi All Sorry this is a fairly trivial issue. The power for the cigarette lighter goes off when the ignition is off. I'm guessing tis is by design. Was getting my 2003 XL7's AC checked for a leak and they did discovered a problem with the lines to the rear unit (not yet seen where but something to do with the frame/90degree junction.)
