High Gas consumption APV GLX any help to reduce?

Hi all,

I own a 2006 Suzuki APV GLX and every since the day I bought (and used) the unit, my gasoline consumption runs from an average of 7.5 - 8.5 kilometers per liter using unleaded gasoline. On a normal day, I would travel 34 kms from home to office, about 28 kms on the expressway (without traffic) travelling at around 80 kph on the average.

The new Type II was introduced and dealers say it consumes 35% less than the initial APV model.

Is there a way the Type I can be adjusted or gadget installed so the gas consumption can be reduced?

Honestly, I felt cheated when I bought mine since I was told that it consumes around 10kms/liter on a normal drive. Never got that much, though!
