So Lost is on a distinguished road
Default Please Help....

Greetings all...I have a 2004 Suzuki Verona....I purchased the used car and I have been having the WORST luck with it...ok my check engine is on...when I press the gas it does a skip/hesitating feeling...then when I press the brakes it does like a skip feeling....could it be my spark plugs and its just time for me to get a tune up?Being a female I think that some of these mechanics try and get over on me...I just had my thermostat replaced....man oh man...I wouldn't wish these problems on my worst enemy

Unhappy Hang in there

You may need an O2 sensor or the ECM reprogrammed. Those are both of the problems I needed serviced when I was experiencing those problems. But don't quote me....I'm a female also and very new to the forum, so I feel your pain. My engine light kept coming on after both of those things were replaced and I have the same model as yours. I just posted today about needing a new engine which is covered under powertrain, but the dealer is giving me the runaround. If you're in the chicagoland area, I can suggest a good place to take it to get looked at without costing an arm and a leg. Good luck!

It does sounds like a tune up issue. start by taking out the spark plugs an checking their condition. Also take off the air intake hose from the throttlebody and see if there is oil in the hose and in the plenuem(check that by moving the throttle cable) if you have excessive oil you will need to do spark plugs, pcv valve, clean oil out of intake hose, and have the throttlebody cleaned( induction service). Also need to check if the map sensor is clogged with carbon, if so get a new one from the dealer its been update. If after all that is done and it doesn't fix the problem then you could have a head problem, catalytic converter problem and or need an engine at worst case. Remember that car has a 7year/100000mile drivetrain warrenty that transfers from owner to owner. The pcm(computer) and catalytic converters are 8year/80000miles. I know this is alot but you need to know this. Good luck and let us know how it goes! Almost forgot get a compression test done normal for each cylinder is 185 to 200 psi.
