Its really a pleasure to own a car, recently I learned driving & then bought a second hand Maruti Suzuki Zen Lx (2000).
When it came to me the external condition was ok but interior & the mechanical were not in so good state, after my first ride with what it came with I was not so happy with the feeling, I gave it service station & the person gave me a big list of replacements which were required, I said ok, go ahead but please make it good. And after 5 days the car was ready although it costed me 42000 INR the changes what were made satisfied me, even for a new learner the experience was good. I took the car to get some electronics fitted, I added an autocop, a JVC KD-G634 audio. The tyre shop besides told me that the tyres are gone out and I must change them, I also respected his views and replaced all 4 tyres. Now the cost of electronics, tyres and cleaning reached to 23000, but was ok as what was added was really good.
Then I drove the car back home and after parking something struck me and I tried to restart the car but with all this it refused to start, I was terribally depressed, i called the mechanic and he said mostly the battery is gone, I started the car jumping it on 2nd gear (as guided by mechanic) and took it to nearest battery station, not needed to say replaced the battery with Exide freedom

Now total makeover cost went to 68000

Then rains started and windshiled started leaking, the service station said that I need to get windshield refitted but since its a tuffened glass better get a laminated new one, I said ok for that and along with it I got the combinationn switch replaced too since most of the functions were not working. This total added me 5500

I took the car in 79000
Make over is 68000
Windshield etc 5500

Total 152500

Now this equals to the car price which I saw at one of the dealers for a third class conditioned car.

Recently I got a permenant license and I took the car for a long drive, that one drive gave me satisfaction of what I have done.

Now only pending thing is interior change which will give the car complete new feel.

My most of the friends say no one spends so much on a second hand car, but somehow I dont like to keep it in bad state.
