Default Problems with the door locks not working

This has been going on for along time for me but the last month or two it has been dead. The door locks used to work sometimes, usually tapering off if you kept doing it until they did nothing when you pressed the switch. Sometimes they'd work perfect while other times they'd budge but not go all the way, then sometimes not work at all. What specifically do you guys think is causing this? It's all the doors. I haven’t an idea on how door locks work so help me out.

Danny

hm could be a bad ground, perhaps a bad actuator. theres a wireing diagram in the online manual, it shows the locations of the grounds and controll boxes.

Here is a general description of those locks

The power door locks use a solenoid that is contained in each door lock assembly. The door locks are activated by the actuator on the inside door handle or by the lock cylinder on the driver's side door only. When the driver's side door is locked or unlocked by the actuator or the lock cylinder, all doors are locked or unlocked accordingly.

My best guess is to manually check each of the other doors to see if they are operating normal. Then check the driver's door manually to see if that lock is causing an intermitten problem by hand or with a key on the outside. I would lastly assume the switch if all possible causes are operating normal.

Yep, think power or ground, something that is common to all of them.

Yeah I was thinking of ground but didn't know what it would be on.

Wait are all the locks supposed to lock/unlock when you use the key in the door on the drivers side?

I know it's the main actuator that does all the doors because they all are synchronized with the problem

the drivers door controlls all the other doors. if you push down on the drivers lock the others should lock also

if you push down on it too?! You sure?... I don't remember my car ever doing that one. I don't know if it did all of them if you used the key in the drivers door because I have an alarm but I'm almost sure if I pushed down on the drivers lock the others didn't go with it.

Yep. If you lock or unlock the car with the key, or with the drivers side door, All the doors will follow with what you do to the drivers door.
