Just did this, this evening. Seen a couple people using the gutter guards, with or without removing the black plastic.
This is the gutter guard without removing the black plastic, but taking off the 'S'. Took about an hour.

I gots a small spot on the opposite side, where I cut wrong. It's on the bottom, very noticeable. I'll cut a new one soon as I can find my tin-snips. Got a pack of 4 or 5 for like $7.
