Finally received them and they are decent quality. There were no holes or anything special for the seat side airbags, so I made some slits where the "airbag" patch is on the side. I figure the material is very weak and the pressure from the airbag deploying will rip it the rest of the way. Can't see getting velcro to work, the stretchy nylon material is kinda weak and I don't think even sewing the velcro is going to keep it held in place.

Leaving the head rests off (not liklely to wear them out) and the steering wheel cover is meh, so I'm skipping that too. Going to install the backseat covers later, took me 40 minutes just to get the front done and secured.

They look good in Black/Gray, matching the interior style nicely. They don't feel cheap and the elastic connects feel well secured. We'll see how they do in time.

i finally did my back seats and to give you the heads up, they look excellent. the bottom is easy, took me about 15 minutes. the back was a bit harder with it being split. I had to cut mine for the middle seat belt to pass through, and i had to make slits in the bottom for the belt buckles. ive had my front covers on for about 4 months now, and they still look wonderful with out any rips. good luck with your back seats man.

Thanks for the info. I haven't done my backseats yet, and I'm not 100% sure I'm going to. This is mainly a commuter car so I don't fear much wear to the back seats, and the cover's design matches well enough that it looks fine having only the front done. Maybe I'll get bored one day soon and do it, but unless that happens I have no plans. Even for $35 shipped I can't complain about only using the fronts since they are of good quality.

Default pics?

Would you guys mind taking some pics?

I would love to see how they turned out. I wouldn't mind ordering some myself. Do the optra5 have the same sort of airbags?

I really want some of those seat covers. That is horribly inconvenient about the airbags though. I want blue!

The people at the dealership here said that the material is weak enough that the airbag would just tear strait through it so no modification is required. ill add a pic to my myspace page in a bit for anyone that wants to see them.

That sounds logical. The manual for the car says no seatcovers because they impede the airbags deployment. Im sure theyre strong enough to tear through it.

So is anyone willing to test them to find out?
I have had mine on for about a month and totally forgot about those airbags. ohh well... Thinking about it now, if an airbag can deploy from the dash properly (with only a thin crease in the plastic for it to break through) i would think that it can bust through the cotton/fabric. I could see like pleather/leather seat covers being a problem but not fabric like cotton. ohh well i'm gonna take my chances.
