WHy do you want to step up the timing?
And isn't that a computer function now?
If anything, follow the spark plug wires

My freind advanced timings on a 240sx and the driver noticed a big difference so since our cars don't have that many options to increase horsepower might as well give it a try

We don't have a dist. We have a coil pack and the timing is controlled by the ECU. The only way to change it is by reprogramming the ECU or getting a new one.

Besides, our timing adjusts itself pretty well. It's not static where it needs to be adjusted to compensate for mods. If you could adjust it at all, you would need to change your fuel accordingly.

Its much better on turbo cars than N/A to do things like that. I doubt you'll see any gains... Chris had a piggy back on his car and the most he could get was .75hp.
