yes the engine is the best one i can put in our "family", my tuner has an astra van front wheel drive with this engine and managed a 10.9sec quarter mile with 24psi boost. i'm looking for low 12s or high 11s

Wow thats really nice man.... did you swap over the entire C20LET/F28 combo? I'm guessing you are using the C20LET computer? How about the dash gauges.... how are they working with the LET computer?

Thumbs up My setup ;)

i've been working on this project from march 08
No i'm not using the f28 as the mountings are very far from the our chassis, i'm using an f23 gearbox (from the opel astras 2.0tdi 2.0gsi, zafiras 2.0tdi 2.0gsi, vx220s 2.2eco 2.0t...) its not the strongest but in the uk they exceeded 500bhp without having probs and the mountings are very near but still had to be custom made, to explain you exact, the rear gearbox mount was changed completely obviously not touching the car's chassis in any of them the one on the passenger side we took off the mounting and made it solid and changed the "flange" that connects the mounting to the gearbox and btw the f23 works with a hydraulic clutch i put an obx lsd in it (after i bought it i heard a lot of bad things about obx but in malta there's another guy who's using the same gearbox setup and he's got no probs yet). All mountins are now solid and if you try move the engine to see if its stiff you'll move all the car
Regarding the engine's bottom end its got lower compression pistons, steel rods, polished and lightened crank, uprated and lighter flywheel and everything balanced, and everything bolted with arp studs and nuts, 4 paddle helix clutch kit as the f28 one.
The head is a coscast one, ported and polished, double valve springs, new guides, new stem seals, new tappits, oversize valves, cometic head gasket.
It's got an equal length tubular manifold, tial 38mm (1bar spring) external wastegate, To4 turbonetics turbo, forge dump valve.
Regarding electronics, for now i'm using the standard c20let ecu and we think that we don't need to connect the 1.4 ecu as all the systems that the lacetti uses such as abs.... have their own "ecu", and when i took of the ecu plug and connected the battery and turned the key ON everything seemed to work, like electric windows, radio, mirrors the gauge dials apart from the revcounter, speedo, fuel pump and engine obviously. currently i'm working on the boost, oil cooler, fuel pipes then we start connecting the c20let electrics to the car tough the c20let engine harness is already connected to the engine.
Our speedo work from the gearbox and as i changed it to an f23 which does not have the speedo in the gearbox i have a bit of a problem, but vauxhalls (opels) using the f23 box have the speedo sensor using the abs one so i may be able to use the abs sensor from the vauxhalls. Regarding the revcounter we don't know yet. Pls don't rely on me on these last 2 paragraphs as we still have to solve these problems regarding electrics. Btw if i had to make a managment (which i intend to) i would solve all the probs regarding electrics and i would use the omex 600 ecu which is the best value for money ecu but for now i'm gonna run in the engine with the standard c20let one.
Also i bought an Aem WideBand air fuel ratio meter, autometer boost, oil and fuel pressure gauges.
Hope you like the setup i'm working with, everything is chosen by my tuner in Malta, he's a very well respected guy here. take care and hope you like it guys
