Default 06/07 Forenza Power Steering Pump Question

Recently, my engine was making a rattling noise. I took it to the dealership and they told me that the power steering pump needed to be replaced. I drive an 06 Forenza that I bought in early December of 2005. The dealership wanted $600 for the replacement part so I decided to buy it online to save myself about $400. I had one ordered from NAPA and it arrived in about a week, but when I took it to the dealership they told me it was the wrong one. The hose connector for the pump in my car is angled at about 45 degrees. The connector from the replacement part that I ordered online was straight at a 90 degree angle. The dealership told me that they couldn't move the hose to fit in the 90 degree part or else it would cause it to push up against the A/C hose and it would burn.

So, I went back to NAPA and talked to the guy. After looking on the computer and checking the part diagram, we discovered that the 2007 Forenza has the slanted connector. Everything else is the same except for the angle in the connector.

Now, I'm confused as to how my car (which was bought in 2005) has a power steering pump from 2007 in it. I ordered the part and it should be here on Wednesday. We double checked the VIN number on my car and it showed the date it was manufactured and everything. I figured maybe the NAPA computers were backwards and they had the 07 part labeled as 06 and vice verse, but after going home and searching for pictures online, ALL online sellers show the 2007 part as having the angled connector and the 2006 part as having the straight hose connection.

Does anyone have any theories?

Can anyone with an 06 or 07 Forenza verify which type of connector they have?

I still can't figure out how my car could have a part in it from 1 year in the future.

my guess is it was a part upgraded from the original design at the factory

Update: Part was replaced and the noise went away. Car runs much much quieter now.

According to the dealership, the 06 pump that I had was for Forenzas that were made without A/C. Just different model numbers I guess. For some reason all online dealers had that listed as the standard 2006 P/S Pump.
