Default 2008 Forenza stalling issues

Ok, I am a little frustrated while I am typing so I may have some 1st grade grammar here. I only have 2200 miles on my 2008 Suzuki Forenza and already I am about to drive the damn the car thru the dealership building. The first problem I have is that when I leave my car sit in the driveway for only 2 days, when I start it up from my driveway and then back it onto the road, it stalls out. The last time it happened another car almost hit my car from the backend. If I start my car everyday less than 24 hrs from each time, this problem usually does not happen but I am sure it will someday. Even if the car is cold, this shouldn’t happen. I have a 20 year car that can sometimes sit for a month and this stalling crap never happens.

The second problem is that it shifts hard sometimes at high speeds on the highway going from 55 to 70 or back down to 55 and I am a very conservative driver, no speed demon. The shifting problems is not that bad but it makes me think something is wrong.

The third problem is that even if someone who is over 200lbs sits in the passenger side seat, the airbag sensor light remains on. The light issue again is not every time but 6 out of 10 times, the light sensor remains on.

Well I took to the dealer and they said they can’t find any problems or bad codes. So now I am afraid that these problems are not going to go away and I do believe that someone is going rear end me or worse hurt someone in the car. So now what is my next step? sorry for the rant but please help me

Hi there,

The stalling issue I have no idea. The only time my 05 stalled is when I put a half a can of Liquid Sea Foam into the gas tank.

As for the shifting, my car had issues shifting down from 4-3 and it took a check engine light for the dealer to reprogram it.

I believe the airbag system seems to be problematic with the newer Forenza's my 05 illuminates at start and goes away as it should and the passenger sensor engages the airbag (indicator turns off) when someone heavy enough sits on it.

That's my two cents. Hopefully that helps.

Your trans may need a new seal and shift pack installed. Known issue. They had quite a few new ones develop shifting issues. Not a hard fix. Takes a couple hours. That will fix that shift problem.

Not ever had too much of an issue with the classification sensor in the passenger seat but simply demonstrate it to the service writer or manager then they will have to address the issue.

Stalling problem will have to be duplicated and watched on a scanner or not much they can do other than simply guess??? Not gonna happen.

Default lemon law

Well I got the car back and the issues still happen. I may start to video record the problems in case I need to file a lawsuit or lemon law.

They refuse to do anything else but hook it up to a computer for codes and I am not going to go 40 miles to the nearest dealer and be without a car for days unless the problems worsen.

I will never buy a Suzuki again.
