Default Looking at a 2006 Forenza

sorry in advance for the double post, not sure where exactly to post this thread.

Just wondering what different peoples opinions on a 5-speed 2006 Forenza are. I currently drive a 5-speed civic, and its getting a little old and is nickel and diming me to death. The Forenza has 21,000 miles on it and a clean carfax, and Im getting it for a good price. Just looking for opinions on reliability and the like. Also I will have an after manufacturer warranty through carmax, I just want a car that will last.

Thanks in advance,

Aric

I'm gonna try and shoot straight on this one. These cars are great if your willing to do proper maintance and don't go 20,000 miles between oil changes. They have good options for the price and with a little money can be quite sporty.

If you are looking for a car that will run forever while you forget to do fluid changes, seal replacements and other small stuff then these aren't the cars your looking for. Parts can be expensive, there's very little aftermarket, and they aren't a dime a dozen in the junkyards for spares.

All that being said, i hope my opinion helps and i know others will disagree but that's why it's an opinion.

Thank you for being straight forward. From the research Ive done on the vehicle it certainly seems like the car you just described. Im definitely not one to let my car go, I like to take pride in what I drive. But I would like this car to last me for 5+ years without any major mechanical or electrical problems, granted I perform routine maintenance and regular checks of all aforementioned leaks and such.

This seems like a decently reputable site and the people here seem knowledgeable so I hope to learn more about the little things that can go wrong with these suzuki's.

Again thanks for all the info and any other comments anyone would have concerning problems with the car would be greatly appreciated.

That being said, I plan on heading to the dealership tomorrow or the day after and giving it another test drive and hopefully buy it.

Im fairly new to my 06 forenza as well, had it a few months now. its a great car for the pricetag imo. ive had a couple cold start problems with mine but nothing major. i think the biggest beef i have with the forenza is the nearly complete absence of aftermarket parts, with the idea of making mine look sportier i started looking for parts and kits and theres not much at all out there. if your going to be needing any parts for your forenza or plan on doing any work to you your going to have to be ready to make adjustments to get things to fit your car.

The only thing I really plan on adding is cruise control. Ive already located a site which has a kit that they say fits the Forenza. Suzuki
Does anyone have any previous experience with adding an aftermarket cruise control system? Especially with this company?
