Default my struts went out

yesterday when i was coming to work i noticed a lot of bounce on my front end and i thought it was my tires that needed rotation and balancing.

after taking to the dealership they did say the struts were out and covered under warrenty i was shocked.....but the wierd thing is that i only have 36,000 miles on my car.

has anyone else had this happen to them?

they did mention that would cover all four struts plus they will do the water pump recall and the headlight recall all at no charge....

do you have aftermarket springs? they can cause the struts to go early.

My front passenger side strut is shot at 54K, taking it to the dealer on Thursday. Be great if they replaced all four, ride is pretty rough.

Struts are not warranty past 36k and technically not under 36k either since they are considered wear and tear. Some dealers however have a mightier pen with creative failure descriptions.

Expect a $800-$1000 bill for all 4.

Yeah, found that out today. Dealer wanted $587. for both front struts installed. I then went to Meineke & they couldn't locate any aftermarket struts either.
For such an inexpensive car, parts sure are expensive to replace.

A good indication is if the strut is leaking.
