Paint is coming off all 4 door handles, had transaxle (manual) pan seal replaced, then had to have transaxle replaced (shift fork broke), just had to have throttle body replaced. Otherwise, just general maintenance - timing belt, spark plugs, wires, regular oil changes, air filter (K&N), cabin air filter.
I'm not near what you guys are at for mileage, i have 58000 km, so far nothing but the regular maintenance. And these recalls, are they for the suzuki reno and forenza, plus the optra and optra 5. I know they are both the same cars buy are carried by different people. Any insight, the chev dealer says there isn't a fuel filter except for the one in the pump. Anybody know about this?

i was actually on my way to the movies one night and had my shift for break and also had the whole tranny case split in half
Mine is at about 52,000, nothing too major so far.
Loose sensor cables for air bags under the seats
Thermo issues (never fixed, car didn't have any heat issues)
Headlights blew up once (problem for many Suzukis according to my mech)
Serp belt needed replaced
All in all I just got my oil changed once in a while and actually never really took it in for full service other than getting some of the stuff above addressed. It has been a really good car to me and I drive it like it was a Ferrari, no joke.
I have issues with:
1 the dome light there is a short
2 cluster panal keep shorting out
3 paint chipping off door handles
4 spring in the gear shift broke
5 airbag light came on
6 now the gas tank won't pressurize
7 the volume on the radio get stuck
my car have 56000 miles.
the good thing is that most of those problems are defects the dealer should fix. sux about the radio though. when i went in to have my airbag dash light looked at the dealer all but outright refused to do anything about it. even threated me with the huge bill if the harness turned out to be fine. after i told him i knew it was a problem on the reno/forenza he said he would have to ask the suzuki rep then get back to me. its been over two years, no word. but now i believe an email was sent out by suzuki. ask one of the techs. maybe ill go back to the dealer just for fun and ask them if they heard anything about fixing my car yet

Your dealer must be nicer than the one here. Everything on my car so far is out of pocket it is all "normal wear and tear"
I have an '05 Forenza, at 68,000k. The only problem that I have had is an airbag sensor light that doesn't go away, even when reset--but I've been assured the airbags look good. I am having some small paint peelage on the back door handles, and a faulty cigarette lighter--but that may be from plugging my iPod transmitter in too much.
52k 2006 model. Like everyone else, peeling paint on driver side door handle. Had the valve covers go bad at 20k or so. Had to get the throttle body cleaned around 35-40k Now the gasket/moulding around the windshield is coming off on the right side.
Seems like the right rear tire skips over bumps. And the tires are only 4k miles old. Oh yeah, I've had all interior door handles replaced. They broke for no reason one by one. Oh, the plastic hubcaps have peeling paint. Gotta paint those soon. I'll be glad when my loan is up. I'm never getting a suzuki again
