I have a 2005 forenza (automatic) with 50 k miles, mine still works fine..what problems have you had with yours? Anything I should expect or keep a close eye on?
Yes My 04 Forenza has 111,000 miles on it ...runs fine. Occasional Check engine light then it goes off. I will replace the oxygen sensors soon, and also the Gas cap. Thinking of having the timing belt changed.

I also recomend using Castrol Synthetic Blend oil it makes your car last>
My '04 Forenza has over 88,000 miles on it but I just bought it. Everything is good but I don't know what has been replaced etc. Suzuki says any past recall problems have already been taken care of on my car so I'm good there. It runs great and gets great MPG's.
The only problem I have is I got hit by an 82 year old woman yesturday. I'm just glad she has insurance because it's gonna cost about $4k to get it fixed. The damage doesn't look that bad but the body shop says it will need a new right read door and some other work done behind the right read wheel.
It was looking brand spanking new before I got hit and they said it will look even better when they are done with it.
My parked Forenza was also hit by an 82 year old woman (in a new Mercedes) she paid cash to repair. Over $4,000
Ours just topped 50k. We had some sensor fail a couple months ago that told the transmission when to shift. Thought my whole tranny failed for a second. No such luck. Instead of being a completely "covered by warranty repair", the sensor does not count as an internal tranny component, so 900 bucks out of pocket.
we have an air bag sensor that has failed in the passenger side air bag. too bad we have exceeded our milage for warranty. Would be another 900 bucks out of pocket if we cared enough to get it fixed.
We had to replace valve gasket about 20k ago.
Paint on door handles is completely degrading. at first I thought I had just been careless with the key, but it's happening on all of the handles now. At this point I don't even look towards "Americas #1 warranty" because I t really has not helped me with this two year old car much
I can't say I completely hate the car yet but my patience is wearing thin.
By the way I am looking to replace my own belts any warnings?
I am really surprised that an insurance company would pay $4,000 to repair a used Forenza. Why not just total it out? IIRC, the first guy who posted this had about 80K miles? What year was this Forenza? I can't see it being worth much more than that. Just my 2 cents. No offense of course. I mean I own one too.
Mostly Highway -- Orginal Timing belt just gave out -- Rotors at 125,000 miles --- alll recalls were completed -- I will replace the engine and keep driving ---
Just hit 67,000 miles - had a tranny at 30 and now the head gasket just went. Car is at the dealership for warranty consideration. I think something else broke and caused the gasket to fail as the vehicle gave no indication of overheating and has been running fine.

I think the engine temperature gauge is faulty. Mine would never pass a certain temperature, and its below the normal temp mark. I'm in the process of installing a temperature gauge to make sure everything is on check. I didn't know I was overheating until my car was smoking and leaking oil.
i wanted to know after hard driving i turn off the engine....is the smell of a little burning oil normal? i pop the hood and take the oil cap off and a little bit of oil smoke comes out...is something up or what? the car runs perfect idk though any help appreciated thank you
