When I replace the valve cover gasket the power steering is not touched.
The NB recall is accessed through the instrument cluster and 3 purple wires cut and spliced together with a butt splice connector that has not only the mechanical crimp, but heat shrink wrapper with adhesive and even solder. Fancy HUH!!! The closest you get to the PS is lowering the steering wheel to the full down position to get the bezel trim and the cluster out.
Depending on year the other recalls are
KF - Brake Switch (under dash in and out)
KQ - Water Pump Timing Belt inspection/replacement (90+% require replacement) (No power steering interference)
KY - Seat Belt Buckle (No need for comment)
KS - Inside Door release handles (Black trim only) (once again no need for comment)
Not had one come loose but if others have might look into it more. We get too much corrosion out here so might be the difference.
