that would make sense the hood switch is the problem. I noticed the other day that the doors were locking when I pressed the button but the alarm wasn't "chirping" like it normally does.

Have you solved the problem yet? I have an 06 forenza that is doing the same thing (alarm going off for no reason)

yeah it was the hood switch.

when I shook the hood, when the alarm was set, I could get the alarm to go off.

Happened mostly on windy days.
