You can do it and it will run, but don't expect any extra performance out of it. It will not harm your car, only your wallet haha.

i hate to break it to you all but all the gas companies all get there gas from the same big old tank. mobil, amoco, shell all the same thing. it just gets sold under different names. also using aditives to clean the gas can be harmfull and clog the fuel injectors. if it was dirty gas it came from the tanks at the station not the actual gas.

Wrong. If the gas companies got all of their gas from the same tank, then the quality of gas would be the same, but it is not. Arco/BP refines low quality gas hence them having the lowest price usually. While Mobile and Cheveron refines their gas better and have higher prices. Also each gas company has its own drilling sites and tankers. The gas that DJ pump into his car could have either been a bad batch or the tanks under the gas station are crack and dirt is getting into the gas.

If this where true, then Burgers all come from the same old chunk of cow. Wait, but you do notice a difference between the cheep guys and the guys that get it fresh. Same thing for the "Big tank" theory. Granted, fed regs make it harder for the gas companys to be differnt, but there is.
Just like a cake, theres different recipys for the same product. Some are better, and some are not. You still get what you pay for, even if its not noticable right away.
As for the aditives, theres a reason why detroit uses Chevron to pass initial restrictions, even though they are not sold up there. Techron is the real deal.

Enough about my old employer though :P
Seriously though, I just avoid Arco and Mobile, and add techron on occation (9 to 12 months, but alot of my tanks are from chevron and shell) to help keep the deposits down. It wiant clog the injectors.

I was told not to get gas from shell becuase there gas causes problems with your fuel injectors I just get my gas from 7-eleven and see roughly about 250 to 280miles to the tank at 14.2gals it all depends on how i drive.

gas companys rent space in huge tanks by the gallon then drive up and fill there trucks from the same tank. my friend owned a gas station and toured the field where the trucks get filled. different companies all from the same tank, same gas. the only difference is whatever aditives a particular co. puts in there gas.

I haven't see a giant co-op tank fields. I know that different hauling companies will buy from the terminals. Ma and Pa places, 7-11, grocery stores, warehouse stores, they all get there gas from some where. Trucks pull into the terminal, pull out with product.

I do know that componates are sold amongst the companies.

I was going to say. Because the actual gas companies drill their own oil and will sell it as needed. But they refine their own gas.
