Default Air Bags

Does anybody know if i take my seats and remove them temporarily to install 2 amps in my car will the air bags detonate when i unplug the electrical harness? I would hate to be carrying one and have a nice explosive suprsise in the face. My fiance might get a kick out of it though.

it takes a few factors to set off an air bag. But if you're still are worried, unplug your battery for 2 mins to let the back up power drain, then you are free to unplug and remove what you need. be sure to plug everything back together before attaching the ground cable.

air bags are desinged to go off when the impact sensors are hit and the vehical speed sensor registers a sudden drop in speed. (heavy braking or 60-0 in .5 secs) im not sure on the specs for our airbag system but most will not deploy under 20 mph.

Thanx, i've never had side air bags before and i didn't want a sudden loss of power or some back up battery connection to cause them to go.
