We have answered alot of this.
Will it help? Well, the people who have done it, including me seem to think so. You really just need it over the engine and inback of the radiator. Everything else is up to you

on the 2L, part of the return line travels over the timing belt. The huge one is the line beside the radiator. You use the AC on a hot day, with your car trying to disipate heat, its all comming off your Exhaust and Radiator. Guess whats inbetween. That small AC line

Just wanted to chime in with a thanks .

I did this mod today, I covered everything with a roll of R2 2" self-adhesive insulation and foil tape. I skipped the zip ties and any clamps, the tape seems to be enough IMO. But I did have both available, just don't see how any of this is going to budge. I did not do the rubber hose section closest to the engine. The hose should be okay insulation and I don't trust having the insulated tape that close to such a tremendous source of heat as the engine block.

20 minute test afterwards and got better results. 90F today and humid and the AC was barely keeping up, even when recirculating. Now with recirculation it actually feels a little cold, like it should. Took a while to do because of my large hands and the tight spaces.
