Due to the fact I have boatloads of warranty on my car, will putting 16's or 17's void any of the warranties? I know the speedometer would have to be recalibrated, or so I've been told, but I want to make sure I'm doing something that won't void the warranties. I'd also like to put an undercar neon kit on, but I'm not sure if that too would by chance void any warranties because of drilling to put them on.
Also I'd like to tint the windows, put my stereo system back in, put a touring spoiler on the back, and put a new tip on the muffler since I can't put a coffee-can muffler on the back, but all this will have to come in due time....maybe when I get a better paying job
Kinky's right it won't hurt or void your warranties. Only way that will happen is if you go all out on the vehicle, motor (turbo) modification of the body or hydraulics. As the speedo it won't change much if you can match the same diameter of the original tires with low profiles.
If you go 17 put 205/40/17 it is an exact match no cal needed if you go 16 215/45 16 will be the same as well. You will need a +40 to +45 offset with a bolt pattern of 4x114.3 or 4x4.5. With both a 7 to 7.5 inch wide wheel will be the best fit. As for the neon go with led or cold cathode they draw less amperage and voltage and toy should be able to use zip ties or double sided tape to mount these as they are lighter and more durable than neon with a longer bulb life.

if you do not live in an area that gets a lot of snow the Nanking tires they sell are AWSOME on dry and wet roads, however snow traction SUCKS.
If you race dont get the tires he suggested.. they're okay for that but theres better.. but if you dont race.. by all means get them.
I looked into them and they are a very good daily driven tire.. besides the tire treadrating is still pretty soft but other than that there very good for wet and dry as he already said. I didnt see how much the tires were though. Tires like that MIGHT get you 30k miles so if you want something that'll last longer look for a higher treat rating
damn... then for a daily driven tire... those are nice!! I cant wait to get an extra set of race wheels. Right now my tires cost 120$ a peice and last maybe 15k miles (that includes about 4 autocross events and one track)
This is a list of size and price for the Nankang 2, I am thinking of going with the 225/40/18. In Chicago area the 35's are a little to much for the potholes.

If you go with 40 on 18s your speedo will be off... as well as the miles on your car.
Plus that may not fit very well... i have 17s with 40s on and when i looked in the wheelwell ive seen where its touched a few times. Then again i have lowering springs though
Check the offset on your wheels and add a spacer if needed, the spedo will read about 3mph diff. @60mph. And with the 225/40 I should not need to lower but rather stiffen the suspension.(hopefully)
this website will give you the differences in all tire/wheel sizes
