Since that has all of your speaker wires that goes to each speaker i ran new set of speaker wires from the amp(just popped the door stills off and make sure to that speaker wires where ran on the oppsite side of the power wire coming from the battery) up thru the dash to where the into car harness plugs into the factory wire harness so that way if u sell the car and want to put the original radio back u can just unplug the into car harness and bam.
That's exactly what I did! But then I'd go and play some music and I'd get this real bad distortion/static, so much so, that I couldn't even hear the words. See if I can explain this, (cuz I'm just like you, it's easier done than said). My 2-Channel Boss amp is 1200watts max. At 4 Ohms it "supposedly" puts out 225 watts RMS X 2. So visualize the amp first. I have two terminals consisting of two positives and two negatives. I was hoping that I can put the + and -wires from the front and rear left speakers into the left channel terminal, and then put the + and - wires from the front and rear right speakers into the right terminal. Wouldn't that work?? Cuz that's what I tried, but all I got was static. Am I giving the speakers too much power?? I was thinking that by me putting 2 speakers into one terminal, that it'll cut that 225RMS in half giving them only 112 watts to each speaker instead...I'm waiting anyway's 'til I hear these subs to see if I really need ta amp the doors, and if so, then I have the time down to ~4 mins 'til the dash is all apart to try again! lol

Exactly. That's what I've been wondering since day one...it's gonna be interesting. Just tapping the cone of these puppies makes a thunderous sound in my trunk, so I'm getting pretty pumped to hear them...

yeah once those subs get the pumpin your def going to need a 4channel amp unless your gain is set very low on your mono amp (just to much bass drowning out the highs), and yeah the way you had that boss amp hooked up was wrong, best way to hook up 4speakers to a two channel amp is to find out how many watts that amp pushes out at 2ohms rms. once you find that id wire the two front speakers together something like this would help
http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/ca/..._4-ohm_2ch.jpg, but it all depends on if your speakers are 4ohm each. if not and they are 2ohm speakers each wire it like this
http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/ca/..._2-ohm_2ch.jpg thats how i would try it but that boss amp might not beable to handle that.

That's what I'm thinking, too much bass, not enough highs and mids. My door speakers are 4 Ohms and the Boss amp puts out 580 watts RMS at 2 Ohms which is way too much. Basically I'm thinking it be best for me ta get a small 4-channel amp instead of trying ta make the Boss amp work, plus it'd be a PITA to try and wire all those wires (http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/ca/..._4-ohm_2ch.jpg) with the OEM harness since there's only like 3 inches of wire back there. I hadda chance ta get a newish Kicker 08ZX200.4 for $50 on craigslist, but it was already sold by the time I called. :/ Oh well, thanks for the help B. Post some pics up once you get that CAI installed and I'll try and post up a vid of the subs in action once they're set-up ight?! I have a feeling that it's gonna be a good weekend for the both of us! haha

def do that try to sell that boss amp if you could and use that as a down payment for a 4channel amp. If i was you id try to match the door speakers and amp to the same brand it seems to work better that way, but yeah i never heard the kicker zx200.4 but have installed and heard the kicker zx350.4 and liked it i would have gotten it for my set up but i was concerned about space when i was mounting the amps to my back seat so i went with the eclipse amp instead both have the same wattage (60x4 rms @4ohms) and on my headunit i can turn it to the max 40 and no distortion. Yeah ima post some more pics using my crappy cell phone (LG Env2) but i will def try to get a new camera so i can take better pics as well as videos in HD for my youtube haters haha yeah its going to be a nice weekend even tho thats when i work the weather is cooler like in the 30's in the morn and going up to 50's in the afternoon i want to see how these cooler temps affect the CAI, and you getting your boom boom pow back in the trunk with the type-r's killin the streets I was thinking about buying a 10inch type-r for my spare box sense they handle 500watts rms get it in the dual 2ohm version and wire it to 4ohms perfect match for my 1000.1 amp and use that as a lighter backup sub just in case the 15 dies but its still kickin strong for 2years old my sub last longer than my friends subs they always blowin there shit hahaha

Just installed the intake on Sat Night man this motor screams now lol

Wud up B? You keeping that Reno under control with all that new found speed? lol So it's been about a week since I've installed the new equipment in the car, so I was feeling confident that the everything was "properly broken in". The R's are taking the 1000 watts pretty well, but of course the gains been down all the way and I haven't really turned the HU up past 30 for more than a minute or two. So this morning I took my 'Uki ta some local audio guys down the road to see what kinda SPL I'm putting out...I was on my way back from school, so I figured why not. Anyways, after about a good 10 minutes of tuning and a lil' bit of gas, I got these results believe it or not:

Is that sick or what?!?!?!?!? The meter measurement was taken about 2-3 inches away from the front driver side windshield. Terrell, one of the audio guys, said that 100db's is almost equivalent to a jet taking off! Everything's distortion free and oddly enough I can still hear my door speakers (sorda). I'm still using that torn down enclosure for now, but I'll hopefully build a new one (I'll try ported this time) when I amp my door speakers after school lets out. The audio guys were even cool enough to also give me a print out of the efficiency of my amp and other cool details like this program that displays the live wave as the test was being conducted. Bro, it hits so hard in my car now that when I played Young Jeezy's hypnotize song, the air pressure pushed the switch down that turns my blinker on!!!! haha NO JOKE! Gimme like two weeks or so, and I'll post up a vid for ya...I'm so stoked. If you listen closely, you can prolly hear me thumping up there in VA! haha J/P

So enough about me, tell me more about the CAI install, was it pretty simple to do?
