Sweet Potato pie huh?! lol Yeah that's a name for a lady puller fa sho. Haha I def feel ya on your motto tho, but I've learned ta keep an extra eye out for them popo's when I have King Kong loose in my trunk, I'm not looking for another noise pollution citation anytime soon. lol Oh, I caught a break at court last week. I had ta pay the ticket in full, but I don't have any points on my record so I gotta lay low for now, but after that 1 driving class a year limit is up, I'll be back to my old habits again in no time. BTW, remember when I told ya I had some upgrades coming for my car? Well get this...I got some window visors and small things like that, but I was most excited about my sound system upgrades, cuz that Sony amp just wasn't cuttin' it no more. So I ordered a 1000 watt RMS mono MTX amp (X1000D), I got some Alpine SPR-17S and SPR-13S to replace my Infinity components in my doors, a Kicker 0/1 gauge wiring kit, a 3.5 fared Boss capacitor, I bought a Kicker KX 200.4 amp for $50 on Craigslist ta amplify my mids and highs, and I installed a bigger battery (there's no yellow tops for my car, so I got the closest thing I could). Anyway's, so I have my two Type R's wired down to 2 Ohms in my box ready ta go, I got the door speakers amp'd and ready ta scream, I have the capacitor making my trunk look like a disco, and I have a huge smile on my face cuz I know I'm about to break the welds on my trunk...well...that smile didn't stay there long, cuz I had no bass!! After doing some checks, I found out that the MTX amp didn't work! Guess where I got it from?? Sonicelectronix. I paid $275 for an amp that doesn't even work. And no, I didn't fry it or hook stuff up wrong. I just couldn't get it out of protection mode. Oh I was mad. Long story short, Sonic wouldn't do nothing about it, so I hadda pay another $30 ta ship it to MTX to have it fixed. So now I have all this great equipment in my car, but no bass to shake the teeth outta my mouth. I should have it back in two weeks, but still, I'm bummed. But on a brighter note, I have some older subs, amps, and stuff in my workshop just laying around, so hopefully I'll be able to sell that and get some money back, maybe even break even! Oh well, sorry 'bout the novel bro, just thought I'd tell ya what's goin' down...

thats whats up well im going to hold of on the rims till i can get my car serviced today I changed my sparkplugs and wires myself using NGK for both. Theres a guy on the forums selling a black bms Cold Air Intake so i told him in interested. My boy came up from miami who owns a 07 gti with two eclispe 12inch subs and alpine 500watt amp, He hasnt heard my system since last summer the only thing i added was the kicker ks components in the doors and a eclipse amp 60watts x 4 rms and he said my system sounded louder I havent changed any settings on my kicker 1000watt amp but its a beast so is my kicker 15inch sub when i see cops pull ppl over i ride by bumpin they dont do anything they are more worried about speeding and catching illegals drivin. But damn that sucks i had some bad luck working with mtx amps they keep going into protect mode when i install them in a customer car. But my orignal kicker amp and sub has been working flawlesly for two years now i had it sitting in my house for 3 years lol couldnt install it in my beater car but my reno is handling it fine, but yeah riding with no bass is not fun its nice to have the highs in mids but i like the cars the cars that go boom hahahah

Nice! You saved a lotta money right there doing it yourself, cuz you didn't have ta pay that additional BS $90/hour labor fee, and getting a BMS CAI would be sweet! More HP & better MPG is always a good thing. I thought them BMS CAI only came in blue though??

What are you a Kicker spokesperson??? Haha Just playin'.Them door speakers and amp will make a big diffrerence though, not with bass, but in overall "loudness". I thought the same thing once I amp'd mine and heard the difference. My rears ring everytime I get out of the car now, and that's without any bass, so I'm pretty pumped to hear everything together. Yeah, this MTX amp is a headache I didn't need, but it is what it is. I'm just glad MTX is fixing it for me, otherwise I woulda just blew $270 on nothing. It should be back here on either Friday or Monday, then I can get back to bumpin'...what I shoulda been doing two weeks ago. :/ I'm also making a new 1 Sq/ft enclosure out of some 1" MDF wood, so it may be another week or so 'til everything's done (I'm not doing a Fiberglass enclosure in my car, it'd be pointless)...I'll keep ya updated like I always do, cuz after all, compared to me, you are the sound system guru. lol So I'm always curious to see what you think about my upgrades.

HAHA true yeah im savin money for that service still i did order new spark plugs and decided the hell minus well change out wires too, took me 10mins once i got my 3/8 extenson adaptor to change out spark plugs so i saved some money, and to me those ngk plugs and plug wires gave me some better acc but that just could me be but my tranny seems to shift better i know it will def improved once the intake gets here the guy just shipped it today I wasnt even trying to get the intake but the guy posted here on the forums for a good price and the color i wanted too black and it was brand new for $170 compared to $240shipped from bms that was a deal i had to jump on. Yeah just call me Mr. Kicker aka Mr. 15inch and no im not talking about whats in my pants haha my sub, I was tryin to tell my boy that vented boxes have he boom over sealed boxes but sealed boxes sound clean and good for fast paste music e.i. techno, house which is the music he listen too. Not me I want that boom I love riding on the streets and turnin heads from the ppl walkin on the street.

Not too bad with the plugs there Mr. 15inch! Hahaha But you know what Mr. kicker, your 15 inches can't satisfy the ladies like my 24 inches can! lol Ooooohhhhh! lol $170's a great price for them BMS CAI's though, I can see why you jmped on it. Maybe when I get another job, I might look into 'em more, but I'm not going to mess with my engine too much. At most I'd just do the "simple three": Filter, CAI, exhaust. Unless I'm turning my car into a turbo'd Chevy Optra, my engine modding budget will be saved for my other vehicles.

Yup, that's true about vented VS sealed. It's all about personal preference. Since I'm not looking to shatter any SPL records, I'd rather have a sealed box over a ported enclosure any day. I don't listen to techno or nothing like that, but I love the crispness and clarity I get outta my sealed boxes. Plus sealed boxes need some more power from an amp to push any subwoofer, so I banking on that theory ta save my Type R's since I'll be running 1200 watts RMS at 2 Ohms to 'em everyday. Peak power for my subs is 1500, but the RMS is only 500, so I'm hoping I’ll be giving them around 1000 after everything's said and done. I just gotta remember ta keep that gain down and smell for that unmistakable stank of a burning voice coil.

Yeah that is true my gain is not even halfway up on my kicker 1000watt amp and my 15 still pounds like crazy have your head ringin after my 30mins ride home from work. But yeah I aint got Sh*t on 24inches lol prob take my girl if had one haha, but yeah sealed is str8 i dont like it thought im like TI I like my beat down low but for some reason i cant let the top back on my reno haha and no he messed up when he said kenwood he shoulda said kicker haha, and yeah that prob the only eng mod ima do is the CAI i would like a exhaust but the sound would get on my nerves after awhile and the jack boys (Cops) would be after me 24/7 for some exhaust to loud bs. Yeah speakin of type r's i installed two 12s in my boys jeep in a sealed box using the kicker zx1500.1 (1500watts rms @ 2ohms) and this man roof was flexing like crazy my cell phone was dacing like crazy on his roof, but i thought about alpine type r for my kicker 1000.1 but after hearing a 10inch type-x in a sealed box i as like omg sh*t was killin that young jeezy welcome back funny thing the kid was underpowering the type-x with alpine 500watt rms amp. I bump at full vol most dont smell vc when i get home check the sub its barely warm i still got a 10inch box lol but i forgot about buying a sub for it for a lighter weight set up. So when this intake comes in after i install it reset ecm or ecu im trying to race my boy 05 toyo corolla type-s lowered with a K&N Short Ram Intake think it would be a good race lol oh yeah keep the type-r's they are good subs the the mtx amp should be beast in your trunk and you would beat me in loudness meaning pure vol all day......

Haha Man,I as so gonna get you on him saying Kenwood, but you beat me to it when I read on. That's a good song. So your homeboys Type R's were able to handle 1500 watts RMS for more than a minute??? It must be crazy inside that SUV. And I feel ya on the pipes. That'd just be one more thing the 5.0 can pull you over for...

So I got a call today from Mitek Corp. (MTX), and basically what they told me is that they don't have the parts to fix my amp, so what they did was upgrade me to the 1000XD for free instead. The funny thing is that my X1000D retails for $280, the 1000XD retails for $499!! You wanna know why there's such a big difference in price? The X1000D's made in China, the 1000XD's made right here in the USA! lol Ain't that sumtin'? So now I'm thinking of all the ways I can sell this stuff, make a huge profit, and upgrade again to something bigger and better! lol Will it ever end?!?!

You mean you have your 15 inch sub in a box built for a 10inch?? Um, tell me I'm confused. Well with my Kenwoods, I used to smell the voice coils all the time after a good 30 minutes of thumping, but I was also pushing them around their peak wattage,so I can't blame them. I'm curious ta see how these Alpine's will be now that I'm pushing them too.

You and you homeboys cars are pretty equal stock, so I think it'll all come down to driver error since ya'll have the same upgrades. I still ain't raced anyone with mine yet, but I've had it at 120 before (got the vid on myspace), but that's about it...

lol yeah you think somebody with money like TI would invest in JL audio W7's or sumtin and not no kenwoods but thats another story. MMM thats a decent amp we carried the XD line amps at Circuit city but biggest one we carried was the 600xd (600watts rms @ohm) after that it was th jackhammer series. And no I do not have my 15inch sub in a 10inch box lol i must have confused you but i have a spare sub enclosure made my mtx called a bass slammer box. I prob could sell it for 30$ plus I only paid like $8 for it and its brand new still in orginal packaging and new smell too haha. but I might give it to my pops for his ride. And for my boys jeep he has the older type of alpine type-r's with the normal rubber surround Alpine SWR-1221D Type R DVC 2-Ohm 12" they where made to handle 500watts rms and his amp is giving them 750watts rms each totaling 1500watts rms total. And as far as me and my boy racing we both are auto to even tho his dash says 110mph top speed and ofcourse ares say 140mph. Damn 120mph I havent been past 105mph on a 55mph road one night lol, but if we run one ima take out my sub for sure haha, but he is going to help we install the intake tho

You'd think right? He shoulda had a betta vehicle than Chicken with all the money he's made. Ahh, so I had it twisted. I figured you wouldn't put your 15inch sub in a 10inch box, but you never know, I seen some things.lol

Yeah my Type R's will be getting 1000 watts each, beacause this amps actually really smart when it works right. haha It technically only a one channel (mono) amp, but it has two separate terminals for easy installation of several different wiring combos, again, when it works right. Everything's exchanged internally which is why I think these amps are having so much trouble, they're too smart for their own good...

Truly the fastest I've ever been so far was 189mph on a zx-10r (on myspace too), but I know I went faster than that cuz it was at 189mph that the speedo stopped and I was only in fifth gear going into sixth, so who knows how fast I really went. That'll be a fun race though. Y’all should put something on the table for it like a free meal or a full tank of gas. That'll make things a lil' more interesting for sure.

Hey I gotta question for you that I shoulda asked a while ago. How did you hide the speaker wire going from your amp to the door speakers?? Did you find a way ta get through that electrical door plug? Cuz my door panel's not completely put back together since I hadda take my amp out and find a new trim piece thanks to the guys at the detail shop and I'd like to be able to conceal the speaker wires so you don't see them when you open the door. I tried once to wire them in behind the DVD player (like where the JVC harness met my OEM harness is where I put the wire coming from the amplifier), but it only gave me lots of static, which I found is called reverb. Got any suggestions LP?

Nice new pic BTW...

Hmmmm what i did was basically cut the speaker wires coming from the aftermarket raido harness that connects into the car harness off and connected and ran my speaker wires to the wires thats coming from the car side of the harness. so basically I brought the harness that connects to the factory harness that u unplug from the factory radio we call it the into car harness. Since that has all of your speaker wires that goes to each speaker i ran new set of speaker wires from the amp(just popped the door stills off and make sure to that speaker wires where ran on the oppsite side of the power wire coming from the battery) up thru the dash to where the into car harness plugs into the factory wire harness so that way if u sell the car and want to put the original radio back u can just unplug the into car harness and bam. I hope i didnt confused you i suck and explaining these things i can show better haha but no i did not have to run new speaker wire to each door just to behind the dash where the radio goes because all of your wires are located there. Well I promised my boy some MCD's for helping me install my intake im pretty sure i can do it myself but id figured whatever i;ll just get him to help me and maybe we can race since he just got new tires haha.
But damn i seen your vids on youtube youz crazy hahaha 190plus on a bike where its just u and the road is wild. and 1000watts to a type-r is insane the Q is how long will they last.
