Default Porting & Flow Numbers of the U20SED Head!

Over the past week my machinist has been working on my head, and tonight he finished it up and put it back on the flow bench to see the comparison with stock. The ports look fantastic and are much smoother than before. I have the flowbench results for now, but I will have some pictures of the ports soon. Overall I'm happy with the results this far

**All values are in CFM

Intake

Lift------ Before---After
0.100"------88------100
0.200"-----156-----172
0.300"-----189-----197
0.400"-----193-----212
0.450"-----197-----216

Exhaust

Lift------ Before---After
0.100"-----101-----109
0.200"-----160-----167
0.300"-----170-----184
0.400"-----174-----190
0.450"-----176-----193

Here I decided to graph the gains for both intake and exhaust to see a more visual representation.

Thanks man, I'll be excited to see the differences on the dyno! Hope to have the car back together by the end of this weekend.

No I'm not on omniarom btw.

iv been thinking of getting this done for a while now, just trying to find an extra head. did you gasket match the intake and exhaust also? im sure you know already one of the problems with the u20sed is supposed to be the "fuel and emitions efficent" head (lolol) holding back the flow. i cant wait to see your results. where did you get the new valves? if you dont mind what was the cost?

check out Boshart Motorsports Store :: Home to get started. Then check out the rest of this forum and Daewootech.com for more high dollar high performance stuff. Don't get your hopes too high. These aren't hondas where event he minivans get aftermarket support. Most of the stuff is either in limited quantities at a premium or is one-off.

i'm right there with you on this one. I can't wait for the dyno results. Just looking at the head and manifolds i cringe at how much metal is in the way of power.

Both the intake and exhaust manifolds and gaskets are being port matched to the head. My machinist did mention that the ports are quite small for a 2L engine, which is one of the reasons why it has good torque, but rather poor top end HP. I didn't mention it here, but 4 of my intake valves were slightly bent, so the replacement valves were just taken out of the head I pulled off my working motor (I have 2 complete motors). We don't know for sure why they were bent, but the theory is that so much coolant might have been leaking into my old motor when the H/G went that I could have partially hydrolocked it
