Default Am I paying too much

alright as some of you know my clutch went out low and behold its still out, but here is the question when my dad went up there they told him that they can fix it (after telling me they couldn't) but they're charging just under a grand and I don't know but this seems a little extreme. So if any of you have had this done or are techs yourself can you tell me if I'm being cheated?

P.S. After two weeks they tell me it's going to be another before they get the part. I can get it faster than that am I wrong or shouldn't they be able to get it before me?

A grand sounds way to much for me, but I do all the work myself. Go online and price the parts. Buy the parts and take it to them, if they buy them they will mark them up and make money on that too. Or find a guy who does work on the side, but the trouble with that is, the warranty and stuff.

It sounds like its to much, but my guess is if that price includes the labor then it may be right. As labor seems to cost more than the OEM parts for our car.

thanks guys this helps to an extent but I was really hoping to find either a tech or someone that has had this done through the dealership because I really think that because our dealership is out here in the booneis that they try to cheat they're customers of course I could be wrong. By the way when I went up there they said they couldn't fix it but when my dad went they could. part of the reason for the suspicion

Is that for parts and labor? Do you have the price for each seperate by chance?

aight I couldn't get a price but i did find out that they are changing the whole clutch and just the clutch maybe that can help. But by my research I found that it should only cost a little over two hundred for the whole clutch is this about accurate or am I way off.

Im not sure about our clutch but my bud just got a new clutch installed on his civic for about 300.00 that includes parts,I think a grand is kinda crazy. There really isnt a whole lot of labar that goes into it. Best chanceis to buy the oem yourself and find a nice cheap shop or some handy man to help you out for little cash... If it was me I would not pay a grand for a clutch installed, that better include clutch slave cylinder, master cylinder, fly wheel bla bla bla... f thaat.
