Default 04 Optra5 fudged intentionally by mechanic or ecu?

First thing's first: I have an 04 Optra5 (manual) with BMS CAI and Kinky UD Pulley installed. I recently got new tires installed by a mechanic (friend of my dad) last Thursday.

When I first installed the UD Pulley I noticed that the shifting time was even between gears (especially first and second). Everything was running great up until this morning while I was driving on the freeway. I wasn't peaking over 3krpm (the needle looked like it bouncing up and down below the 3 marker) and I had 3k constant in every gear. The car felt quite slippery, too. Once I got to my destination I parked the car and opened the bonnet to check for clicking from the ECU (I couldn't tell). I switched the ignition off and turned it back on. It was going pass 3k no problem. All of a sudden the car seemed to go back to normal.

The mechanic did seem sketchy- and I guess he didn't know who I was until AFTER I had got the work done. I drove the car around on Sunday and Yesterday with no problem- but if it's one of those "one thing's broken another falls apart" scenarios I'll be

I installed the pulley about three months ago (and remember the clicking when I first installed the part) and have never had any issues. I do recall after the first few days with the UD pulley (and CAI that was installed first) the car behaved differently- but not like what happened today.

I'm waiting for the engine to cool so I can finally install the Kinky test pipe I bought a few months back since today is the only day I have time. I'm hoping maybe some more clicking might help...

True. Also, did you do an ECU reset after installing those to relearn your comp?

I'm not sure exactally for our cars but you might be able to just disconnect the battery, drain the charge (turn on headlights) then reconnect the battery. It could take a few trips for the computer to relearn

On my reno after disconecting the neg from the battery and pressing the brake a few times, wait about 1 min and it should restart. You will know by looking at the speedometer, the neddle will go up to 70mpg and back down when you turn the car back on... and its restarted. You will have to do that after you install the test pipe. Your engine check light may come on later on again, but just restart it.

I also find that when my tires are replaced, no one does them right. They are always need to be retourqued. Ones always over tightened and ones loose
