yeah, that's the truth. it was a pain in the crack trying to get that air box muffler from out of the fender well. you'll have to jack the car up a few inches for enough clearance, too.

I ended up leaving that in I mean I'm not planning to make it a CIA yet. but so far it's in its giving me a small boost but the best part is the way it sounds I've been revving it all day long. next stop is to replace the exhaust... or at least the muffler for now.

Should be across the entire powerband, plus quicker revs in N, and better response. It'll gain allot more in the higher RPMs than the lower ones though.

No adverse effects....just don't drive through a lake.

Ohh thanks for the fast reply. It's just that I'm from the tropics and the weather here is hot and humid, I got a buddy that did his short air ram system and he lost badly in the lower RPM range but it was sweet in the mid and higher range. Could it be his set-up?

Anyway what's the best set-up for Optra?

Hmm. . .

Hopefully a few other members chime in. I've had a performance intake much longer than factory one so it's hard for me to remember. Are you sure it's low RPMs and not just lower RPMs at lower speeds (i.e not above say 2nd gear)? That'd make sense to me since it's a SRI it'd suck in all the hot air being next to the engine untill you get some air flowing.

Setup for just an intake or overall?
Best intake=BMS CAI which you can order from me. They're on back order for less than a week right now.

You can use it as either a CAI or SRI...so say you're worried about sucking up water you can take off the extra length, and swap the filter to the first peice for a SRI for that time of year.
