So... I had it installed today by Midas and they charged $150 (everything). I ended up not being able to use the hi-flow cat, because he said that the cat is connected to the manifold and that the two canisters under the car are two types of resonators. So, he cut out the resonators and tubing, welded on my 2.25" straight pipe connected to the glasspack and the 2.25" SS flexible pipe that led to the straight-thru muffler. And yeah... that sucker is LOUD!!! I don't like it and I don't want to get a ticket, so I will be taking it back in the morning to have the 2nd glasspack installed. I should've done this in the first place. It's just that I kept on changing my mind at the last minutes, trying to decide whether to stay with the turbo muffler or the straight-thru.
well, right now, it's pretty dang loud... obnoxiously loud. i realized that having such a loud exhaust is a great way to improve mileage, because you'll want to do as much coasting as possible in order to not step on the gas and draw so much attention.
yeah, i hope the 2nd glasspack does what i want, too. as for performance gains, yes, i noticed an improvement in acceleration and also in shifting. for instance, i couldn't even tell (aurally or physically) when the car shifted to the next gear. it was so smooth that i couldn't even feel it in my seat or the floor. the only weird thing i noticed when i made it back home and checked under the hood was that the engine bay seemed to be much hotter than normal. i was thinking that maybe since the tubing is larger that the hot exhaust gasses aren't moving at the velocity that they were designed to do because of the larger tubing diameter. any guesses?
I dont think bigger exhaust piping would make it hotter, If anything should make it cooler? I could be wrong... And I cant wait to here how it all turns out maybe I will have you make me one?

so, i went to midas this morning and the tech that worked on my car gave me straight talk (and i greatly appreciated his honesty. he was the guy that put on a performance muffler back in january, so he knows the car) and told me that putting on that 2nd glasspack won't do much at all to muffle the sound and that he didn't want to waste my money by putting it on. another guy suggested that i just wait a few days for carbon to build up, which would eventually began to muffle the sound slightly. so i decided to leave it alone... BUT, an hour ago, i realized that i could use the flowtech turbo muffler, the one that was removed, as a resonator/muffler right after the glasspack. since it's an open-flow design (not as much as a resonator), it should kill some of the sound while not killing much of the performance gains. btw, there are definitely gains w/ the DIY catback/crapback!!! it accelerates like crazy and additionally, i've done a lot of driving today and the gas gauge hasn't moved a perceivable notch. but anyway, i will install the turbo muffler this afternoon after i'm not longer busy.
Cool let me know how it goes, man Im deffinatly interested in opening up my exhaust, just dont know what all Id need and how much did it cost for everything, greatly appreciate the info.

Huh? There's the CAT just after the manifold (you should get a test pipe!), then the primary CAT, then a resonator, then the muffler.
