yeah, this is why i'd need to rewire my engine bay in order to go cable throttle...don't mind the puddle of coolant on it, though...damn that hurt...lol.

yeah. i like my super short intake. it seems to have more throttle response than when i had it behind the bumper. then again, i dont have a plenum like you rich folk with the boshart CAI.

Nevermind, I got it installed... and these are the part you need for a more hidden installation. Lowe's Item Number, 230001

This method uses the already existing clamps. It will be very snug to get on but it does fit. Hope this helps everybody.

I'm curious before I do this. You gearhead guru's might be able to tell me BEFORE I find out the hard way.

I live in Pennsylvania, and I was thinking of doing this mod after reading and seeing the gas mileage increase. I currently Hypermile anyway so 30ish mpg isn't rare for me in my 06 'Enza if I can squeeze another 2 or 3 mpg out of it I'll be happier yet.

Now it's beginning winter time and our winters can easily drop below freezing on a daily basis, and sometimes into the negatives but that's a bit rare.

If I do this mod, what is the likelihood of me freezing my throttle body?

I don't wanna freeze anything up, so I'd like some input so I can weigh my options.

Thanks

Some of the big trucks have shut off valves on the heater intake and outbound water hoses-you can shut off the heating system completely, no chance of any heat getting to the cab in summer- you could try adapting that system to our car if you can find valves small enough to fit our hoses. Then you could turn them off in summer and back on in winter.

with winter looking exceptionally cold this year and without knowing anything about the valves i wouldn't tell you to do this mod until spring. My throttle body has never stuck with this mod but i have my TB and Intake mani ported and polished.

I would say dont do it till the weather warms up, theres only one way to tell if the TB is frozen and thats when if freezes and of course that will only be that one time that you really need it to not be frozen.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll hold off till spring, safest bet it sounds like.

hmm I might find a way to put some sort of three way valve in there to bybass the TB and resume to normal configuration for the winter. I'll have to shop around and keep my eyes peeled.

Thanks again guys
