Default Good News (possibly) for those who want header/exhaust

I found a header and exhaust system complete from the manifold to the muffler for the old Nubira.

Now, we just borrwowed a reno from Suzuki Corproate headquarters so that we can finish up our body kit that were doing for the car. We wont be finishing it until this weekend, so today i had the brainstorm idea to eyeball the header and exhaust section to see if this nubira one would fit.

Just by looking at it, it looks to be almost perfect. Over the next few days we will try to take off the stock header and exhaust and fit this one on. But if it fits, that means we already have a fully made prototype that we can use for both the header and exhaust that will fit all years forenza and reno, so then we could start the prebuy right away.

Whenever we make new applications, we have to make 25 each from the factory minimum. So most likely we will need at least 7 id say prebuys of each (header and exhaust) so that we can have enough funds to pay for part of the order, and we will foot the bill for the other 18 sets.

Were also going to have our korean office design a cold air intake that i assume would fit both forenza and reno.

i want to see a video and pics of the exhaust when finished...does this replace the 2 cats with high-flow cats? if so, then i'm interested.if not, then ill just build my own exhaust once i get a welder

Crap...obviously the design is made for this engine, but the manifold is just milimiters off. We are going to have to get a new flange made. The rest is also just that much off..i guess the nubira is only 95% the same. So now we have to decide what to do.

Option 1 would be to find someone on the boards who will have a shop make the modifications necessary to get it to fit the car. Option 2 would be to borrow the car again later from suzuki and find a shop to do it ourselves. Option 3 would be to purchase stock header and catback system and send to korea to our factory for them to make sure they make it US Spec.

All of these methods are expensive, i was really hoping our prototype was going to work right off the bat.

Default Header Flange

kinky and i have been working on different parts for these car and the header wad one of the next stops.

i have offered a header flange for the 2.0 and the 2.2 for a while and kinky has been searching for a company to manucature them.

i'm very interested to see what issues you came accross, if you took any pictures or measurements then i can help. i'm sure the heads are the same so it must have been just the placement of the collector.
who was the manufaturer?

if you'd like i would sell you a flange and you can make the prototype yourself or kink and i can make a prototype and you can have you factory reproduce them.

from what i understand kinky was very close to completing the headers. but right upon around the time of expected completion, the guy that was helping him out completely lost communication with kinky. so yeah. what kinda added numbers we looking at with the headers alone? from what ive read on here, along with myself, if its no more than sythe's (sp?) downpipe, which was a solid 10whp, then i'd rather stick with the 85$ purchase instead of paying the typical 200-400 for headers. but we'll see...

hopefully kinky jumps on here shortly to post progress. i haven't spoke to him much today atleast not about headers.

you're right about the coming up MIA, that's what prompted kinky and i to basically start over.

as upposed to the down pipe which basically give you a 'shorty' header, what i'm talking about would be a 4-2-1 two piece long header.
it would be something like this one.

Header flange I can make them. Just like the down pipe, we made the flange for them.

Attached are pictures of what we were testing. You can see its great quality stuff.

You can see how long the header flexpipe is. It goes from that first cat all the way to the exhaust.
