I've got 4ga waiting to be ran from the alt to the battery. 1/0ga waiting for a crimper to ground the piss out of the engine and battery.

Anything to help the [electrical] power flow from point to point helps the engine, period.

The alternator doesn't pull any power, it supplies it, pyaaw.

agreed

i would look more at the amount and quality of the copper in the cable first and the size of the cable second.

amount = size

unless you're running in sound quality competitions, you're not going to notice a difference between two different brands of "100% oxygen free copper cable". There just isn't enough difference to notice without an RTA, and that measures sound, not vehicle electronics.

The best cable you can get, actually, is welding cable. It's more pliable and capable of withstanding gross amounts of amperage. That's what matters, not voltage.

so where's a good place to ground the transmission in a Reno? i tried to run a wire from the battery negative to the largest bolt on top of the tranny yesterday and i noticed some serious interference. although the tranny had a smoother shift, the acceleration of the engine seemed to be very sluggish. any recommendations on a good grounding spot for the transmission? thanks in advance.
