why did you go from the pos to the pos alternator though?

i put it there because the bigger guage wire give the electicity more surface area to travel. The stock 8guage(i think) wire does not give the alternator as much electricity as a 4 or 2 guage wire. so i did it so the alternator can get as much electricity as it can get.

why do you say not to?

well the alternator charges the batery as well as being used for other things but i dont think youll see any improvment. what you should do is run a ground to the motor, the transmition. add one with the stock battery ground, you can do the intake manifold. the idea is to have better grounding for the electronics in the system so theres less unused energy floating around creating interfearence.

I dont think it is a good idea to run a wire from the alt. positive to the battery, suzuki put a fuse between the alt. and the battery so if something happen and the alt. tried to push to much power the fuse would blow and keep the entire electrical system from being fried. Putting a wire from the alt. to the battery would bypass the fuse and, no matter how unlikely, increase the chance of damage to the electrical system IF the alt. goes bad.

the is to many fuses to begin with. one migh fry the other but not much more and highly unlikely.

I agree azzo, I was just saying that there is a chance that something could happen. Ive learned not to take that kinda chance cause it seems as if something can go wrong it usually goes wrong on me, "if it wasnt for bad luck I wouldnt have any luck at all".

I was just putting out a word of caution

still just seems pointless to me to run from the alternator to the battery. i could see upgrading the alternator if you were drawing allot of power for a sterio or something.

i got ya, makes sense. i was really only seeing if it did anything before i put a fusable link in the wire. i'll prolly cut it up and ground everything you said. thanks for the quick response by all of you.

Putting larger and/or additional cabling ANYWHERE in a DC system allows easier transfer of the electricity through the system.

Adding or upgrading the alternator charge cable lessens the resistance that the alternator has to push the power through, thereby reducing strain on the alternator and thus on the engine.

I've got 4ga waiting to be ran from the alt to the battery. 1/0ga waiting for a crimper to ground the piss out of the engine and battery.

Anything to help the [electrical] power flow from point to point helps the engine, period.

The alternator doesn't pull any power, it supplies it, pyaaw.
