i decided to just make one out of the plastic tubing and whatnot from autozone. i couldn't really notice it in any of the videos posted, but mine sounds more like a bike at higher revs (5k+). i'm not complaining, though. i think it sounds awesome. i had to modify the mass airflow sensor mount that i bought and the breather tube on our car is bigger than the 3 male ends that came with the damn thing. so i bought one of those breather filters and i ended up having to modify it as well...i zip-tied it to the bracket that the stock "black box from hell" was on so it doesn't rattle around on the motor mount. it works for now and it sounds really nice. i'm going to go back and do a more 1337 (if you will) job on it so it doesn't look like it is a ghetto rigged, unfunctional POS. you can't really tell that it has been put together like stated above unless i point it out...the only thing you can really see is the zip-ties, which i will replace with an actual mount if i decide to keep this setup. ill take pics on a day that i don't feel lazy.
question...i saw on someones car in this forum that they had a 2nd tube going from the filter down to the hole just behind the front bumper...do you have a filter down there as well? how did you get it there? it looks as if you have to remove the bumper or at least the wheel well to get at it. i guess you could just put a pipe there, but then you'd suck in bugs and all kinds of stuff from the road...
a few of us have ran this, i still have it, others went to the bms steup. but what it is is the flex tube ran down to to where that huge black box was and ran the flex tube to right under the front fender, just enough not to see and to pick up wind and such when going fast. i simply ziptied it to a part of the fender. i only have one filter, but i use the flex tube to get cold air to it. i hope to use the velocity funnel and cut a hole in my fender and run an even better setup, almost like a forced ram air intake.
I just took out the stock lower box and ran a tube down to that intake vent thing on the bottom, seems to work pretty good, but like mb said on my other thread, i gotta take the top resonator off to make it an official CAI and get the full potential outta it.

Yeah. That opening is to small to get much use out of it
It's not the opening, it's that big honkin resonator up top there. That thing has all kinds of tabs/holes/shapes/whatever you like to call em up inside it to deaden sound. Which means it also slows down air.
Nice. Just remember to get a 45 deg bend right before the filter.
To get out the lower resonator, you'll have to remove a sinker and two screws underneath the bumper there. Then you'll have fun finding (and reaching) the bolts that hold that bad boy in.
It's a bit of a pain, but it's worth it. Once that box is out, you get a lot more airflow.
