As I plan to go turbo very soon, I was wondering how much the stock clutch will hold? Tom says I'll need to replace the pressure plate and also the con rod bolts. You guys think the stock clutch will be slipping right away, or just wear out a lot faster? Also are there any other weak points I should look at immediately? Aiming for 8psi boost (175 - 200 WHP), stock internals.

The con rod bolts are a must.. even on low boost. I think it'll slip really bad. I used to get slipping just with the mods I have now

Yes I believe it will slip, but what I'm wondering is how much? Like can I hold off on the clutch for a few months, or would that be pointless as it would be slipping immediately and would interfere with the tuning and normal driving?

I dont think it'd interfere with daily driving. You only make like 1/3 of your power in the normal driving rpms.

Yah makes sense. When I do go to upgrade it, would you recommend to get a whole new clutch, or will just the pressure plate be enough? I don't plan to do serious track driving like you. Just "spirited" driving on the street and maybe a couple times to the track to see how it does.

edit: Did you install your own clutch? how hard was it?

eh... with just 170-200whp you dont need a whole new clutch.. but the hardest/most expensive part is replacing it so if you got a few extra bucks it isnt a bad idea.

No I didnt do it.. BMS was gonna install the LSD so I had them do the clutch as well since its only an extra hour or so.

With the engine mods you have on right now (I'm assuming catback, ud pulley, CAI, anything else i missed?) what do you run in the 1/4, @ what mph? If you do weight reduction, also lemme know what you took out. Just curious cause I should be about the same, unless you have more mods I dont know about.

I believe kinky also has an ECU and 17 or 18 inch tires on his car.

I cant remember what I ran in the 1/4 mile.. I think its 16flat. At the time that was with 17", ud pulley, 2.5" exhaust (not good for drag racing), SRI, I'd like to add my launch is okay and my tires were cold with high psi.

Maybe I'll get another one soon.. I'll at least get some 0-60mph. Now I have a few mores mod: 16" instead (very lite), performance cltuch (may help a bit), lighter flywheel, spark wires... one problem the car isnt tuned very good though, so it might be lacking power. I dont care to pay 100$ or so to have it tuned when I'm need a retune when the turbos on coming up here soon.
