my friend has a 99 protege thats lightly modded. We raced once when both are cars were stock and i won by like 3 or 4 cars. Now he has an intake, full exhaust including header and some computer things along with full coilovers. He thinks pretty highly of it but i don't and want to shut him up. maybe i can even take my other friends v6 mustang which smoked me last time. and btw my car is basically still stock except for of course the nitrous and a modded intake.
You better get exhuast from the cat back (go for 2.25 piping) becuase you will lose a lot of power when you put in NOS. The reason is that the exhaust will put a lot of back pressure on the engine choking the engine which will reduce your power.

Yeah, we have alot of back pressure. Also, lightening up your pully (currently no mod advelable, hopefuly some one picks up the slack) may help.

Thats kinda a suprise. Is it the protege5? I was thinking the mazdaspeed (sedan).

I dunno what the times are on the v6 stang but you should be able to beat it I'd think. The way my car is it stays even with a GT stange from a roll.. but from a dead stop I'd lose since they're rwd

We did a 75 shot on a wet ZEX kit. Had no issues and blew through 10 lbs. of N2O in about a week. It was a nice little kick for the car, but actually didn't end up doing quite as much as we thought. I think we may have been running a little rich, so you might want to play with the jets a bit. Don't go too crazy though, lean A:F combine with nitrous is a bad combo. Hope you smoke that Protoge' man!

btw chip did you guys use stock spark plugs because i've been told by a few people that i might wanna put some new ones in such as the zex ones. or it will turn into a "glow plug".

From what I know our stock park plugs are basically high end ones made by Bosch, and from what people have said its not worth upgrading the plugs. But I don't know how well our stock plugs handle NOS tho.
