So I was researching the Cobalt SS and it looks like it has the same engine as ours. Is it possible to put the supercharger for an SS on our car?

Isn't the Cobalt SS an echo-tech? I know their simular, but not sure about the same. If it would work, is there other parts we can use? The SUpercharger needs beefyer parts if I'm not mistaken

Chevys speel on the supercharger

The Cobalt does have the ECOTECH engine, but it is the North American one tho. From what I have seen there are a few simlair traits, but not many. I am not sure if the super charger would fit or not and I am not sure if there is enough room in the engine bay actually for it as it is good size I believe.

I was wondering that also. If it fits that would mean major HP gains for our cars, but I'm sure it would be alot of $$ because it is a dealer part. Keep us posted if you find any info on fitment onto our cars.

Pet peeve. Ecotec is (eee-ko-tek).

Whenever I hear that backwoods reference "echo-tek", I want to bite a tractor tire.

The two motors are unrelated, other than the name.

The supercharger used in the Cobalt SS/Ion Redline might just barely fit. It's actually a pretty small s/c. If I'm not mistaken, they use the Eaton M42 or M62 s/c's and they really aren't all that big. I'd rather go turbo though IMHO.
