Recently got a 2001 Vitara JX 2.0L with 169k kms on it.

Flushed the tranny fluid, changed differential fluids and the transfer case fluid.
Not a DIY guy so gave it to a garage that I trust.
Thanks to all the information and posts in this forum I knew what to look for while buying as well as the maintenance tips. :)

Anything else that I need to do apart from all the fluid changes ? The brakes were changed recently before I purchased the vehicle.

98 SideKick Head Removal

Hi all, First post here. Sorry if it gets long. Just bought my SideKick for $100.00. I knew it had a busted timing chain and assumed some bent valves. (leakdown test confirmed) It is in very nice shape otherwise and has 120,000 miles. I am going to remove the head and was just looking for tips or tricks or cautions for removal/installation. I did a search but came up empty. I intend to get a FSM but at this point time is limited. I need to get this on the road.
Is there anywhere to find PDF's from the FSM for this procedure? Torque specs? etc? I am looking forward to being a contributing member But as of now I'm just a needy newbie looking to get spoonfed.:)
Thanks, Paul

Tracker gas tank door

We recently sold our 2000 GV and bought a 2002 Tracker ZR2. We really liked the GV better, but this one is newer, with fewer miles, and with the Chevy emblems I can drive it to work if I want to (they don't allow foreign badged cars where I work).

I have two questions: Does anyone know where I can buy a used gas tank door for the Tracker? I have called many junk yards and have not been able to find one. I'll buy a new one from a dealer if that is the only resource, but they want $75 for a new one.

Also, the ZR2 has unfinished dark dull gray plastic trim around the wheel arches and down the sides (factory installed). Does anyone know of anything I can apply to them to improve the appearance?

any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Roland

So I have had my 2006 GV for a couple of months now and started to save to do some mods, who knows where to get the right stuff from? I want to lift it, put bash plates underneath and better A/T tyres on her. I need a good tow bar and maybe a winch bullbar or winch in standard bumper bar. Here are some links I found;
Blingbitz - Grand Vitara Parts (http://blingbitzcomau.melbourneitwebsites.com/cat/index.cgi/shopfront/view_by_category?category_id=4451)
New Grand Vitara - Outdoor Auto (http://outdoorauto4x4.com/b/30292/1/new-grand-vitara.html)

Anyone got any others places I can check out?
I live in sunny QLD on the Gold Coast

My GV is the Stocko Black 1 in the photos on the right, here are some other GVs with winch's in the bumpers & 1 black 1 with a steel bumper with winch
Cool hey!!

Comparison among The most popular three Blu-ray rippers

Blu-ray as a new disc format has greater storage capacity, faster reading and writing speed, and more safe data storage function. It becomes more and more popular in nowadays. However, there are so many Blu-ray products, then how to choose the right Blu-ray Ripper? In order to solve this problem, I chose three best-selling Blu-ray Rippers to make a comparative analysis on its price, main functions and additional functions, and I hope it will facilitate everyone to get a more thorough understanding about Blu-ray Ripper.
Image: http://www.audiotoolsfactory.com/news/img/ripper.jpg
Do you need to rip Blu-ray?. With the Prosperity of Blu-ray market, many software development companies have seized this opportunity and developed Blu-ray Ripper. With Blu-ray Ripper, you can rip Blu-ray to almost all the formats you need. You can find many products of this kind by searching on the net. However, do these Blu-ray Rippers have the same quality and function? It is hard for ordinary consumers to distinguish the true from the false. For this reason, I write this article to instruct you how to rip Blu-ray reasonably.
Image: http://fastsoft.blog.com/files/2009/10/e69caae591bde5908d.jpg
From the table above, we can see there is no much difference among the three soft wares in price. But the comparison to the main functions made an obvious gap among them. We can see iToolSoft Blu-ray Ripper has the most direct operating procedures. We can install and run it directly after purchasing. However, Xilisoft Blu-ray Ripper and AVCWare Blu-ray Ripper cannot do this. You have to buy third-party software (Any DVD) before installing and running your Blu-ray. We can see it in the screen shots below.
Image: http://www.audiotoolsfactory.com/news/img/xili-error.gif
( Xilisoft Blu-ray Ripper)
Image: http://www.audiotoolsfactory.com/news/img/avc-error.gif
( AVCWare Blu-ray Ripper)
The price for Any DVD is from $100 to $150(it depends on the using time you choose). That is to say, except iToolSoft Blu-ray Ripper, Xilisoft Blu-ray Ripper and AVCWare Blu-ray Ripper cannot rip Blu-ray dependently, that is the most fundamental reason why their operating cost is much higher than iToolSoft Blu-ray Ripper.
Moreover, take movie “Water Horse” for example; the reading speed of iToolSoft Blu-ray Ripper for this movie is less than one second. But Xilisoft Blu-ray Ripper and AVCWare Blu-ray Ripper will take users more than 2 minutes to read, much slower than iToolSoft Blu-ray Ripper.
＊iToolSoft Blu-ray Ripper can read the file in one second
＊Xilisoft Blu-ray Ripper can only read single m2ts file, it will take users at least 2minutes in finishing reading
＊AVCWare Blu-ray Ripper can only read single m2ts file, it will take users at least 2minutes in finishing reading
The third point is users can select one kind of output audio tracks and output subtitles as the original movies had, as you like with iToolSoft Blu-ray Ripper. However, Xilisoft Blu-ray Ripper and AVCWare Blu-ray Ripper do not have these two functions.
Image: http://www.audiotoolsfactory.com/news/img/itool-language.gif

Image: http://www.audiotoolsfactory.com/news/img/itool-sub.gif
The fourth difference, which is rather important to users, is iToolSoft Blu-ray Ripper has the function of acquire titles; you can surely get complete and sequential movies after conversion. However, Xilisoft Blu-ray Ripper and AVCWare Blu-ray Ripper cannot acquire all the titles, and they can only convert single m2ts video file, the converted movies maybe not complete with these two soft wares.
The fifth point, which is the last difference for these three soft wares, is the operating interface when you converting your movies. iToolSoft Blu-ray Ripper can show users a clearer converting information in preview window such as file name, file size, file path, used time and rest time while the other two can’t show rest time for converting and can only show the other information in the bottom of their operating interface, not so clear as iToolSoft Blu-ray Ripper.
Image: http://www.audiotoolsfactory.com/news/img/itool-blurayripper.gif
(iToolSoft Blu-ray Ripper)
Finally, they all have fast converting speed and can run background.
I tested these three soft wares for many times, so to sum up, I think iToolSoft Blu-ray Ripper has the highest cost performance. It will be the best choice for users. As for Xilisoft Blu-ray Ripper and AVCWare Blu-ray Ripper, they are less satisfactory than iToolSoft Blu-ray Ripper.

( Xilisoft Blu-ray Ripper)

Baleno Not Starting

I have a 1997 Baleno - Domestic Japanese model. It is not starting. The CEL comes on normally, when checked the code and got a ‘12’ that I interpret to be normal. The engine turns over OK but I do not think the -ve voltage is reaching the injectors, if my digital meter is to be believed.
The real trouble is that I am not sure what to do next mainly because the manuals I have been able to find on line are not exactly for the domestic Japan models, as I have noticed the ECM and a few other important things are quite different. I wish I could get some suggestions as to what to do next.
Just one final note - I think my nephew was trying to change the spark plug wires (because the car kept stalling in traffic and hard to start) and after which we came upon this staring problem. I think the wires are now connected OK but any help to confirm this would be good – it does not have a distributor; 2 coils/igniters are mounted just behind the camshaft to provide spark – I am getting spark for all cylinders.
Specs - Type E-GC21S; Chassis GC21S-412; Engine G15A. The ECM p/n is 33920-64GZ 5A (the connectors seem different to those in the export models)

I just joined today. I no longer drive a Sizuki but I need to help my young nephew who is struggling with a 97 Baleno (Japan domestic exported as used car). I am sure after we get this one fixed there will be a new problem in a few weeks of so.
From the postings I have seen on this site I am sure there are enough Suzuki experts on-board to point me in the right direction.

Factory OEM stereo from a 2008 GV

Hi everyone!

I have a factory OEM stereo for sale that came out of my 2008 Grand Vitara. My GV has only 8,000 kms on it so the stereo is practically new! The reason I am selling is because I put in an aftermarket stereo so I have no use for this one anymore. If you have any questions e-mail me. You can also give me your best offer...

Thank you,
Denis
