I think it's the Transmission Control Module for a Escudo 4 speed auto, about 1990-94.
I can't find any for sale though, only later ones with a different part number and I have no idea of the differences.
Thanks for your response. I need it for a Suzuki escudo. When I start up on mornings and I put my transmission into reverse it don't engage right away. it take up to 5 mins before it engages. I had the transmission changed and same problem so I am trying to change my tcm to see if that would resolve my issue
Welcome to the world of used JDM - and please note, you still haven't provided any details about the vehicle, other than it's an Escudo.
Your options essentially are to source the part in the say way as the vehicle was sourced - used out of Japan, or to try the equivalent part from an equivalent export model of the same year - this second option has to be approached with caution, as there may be no direct equivalent export model.
JDM or Japanese Domestic Market vehicles are built for use in the domestic Japanese market and often use slightly different parts to the export market vehicles, especially electronics and emission control parts. These parts are unique to the JDM market and are not available through the regular export spares channels.
Having said all of that - to the best of my knowledge - if it's a four speed automatic, it's most likely the Aisin Warner 03-72LE, and the TCM does not control the reverse gear selection, that is done purely by the cable selector - the TCM controls the three solenoids which select between the forward gears and control the torque converter lockup clutch.
Find a good transmission shop, one with experience either on the 03-72LE or the AW4 (essentially the same transmission) and have them check it.
By the way - you should be able to remove the TCM and drive that vehicle, shifting gears manually with the selector - you won't get one of the gears, either second or third, I don't remember which - and the transmission shop may have a diagnostic box which they can use to electronically shift the forward gears, with the selector in D.

That's some useful information you have given to me. I am from the Caribbean and I have taken the escudo to the best transmission shops and they cannot solve my problem they advised me to change the transmission which I did and problem still exist. If the tcm don't control the reverse then it not my problem either. Cannot figure out what else would affect this.
the transmission was taken off an escudo which it was working perfectly on so I know its not the transmission. Jut spoke to a garage and he was saying it could be a problem with transmission fluid. because when the fluid heats up t flows better.
Why would it be a fluid problem - presumably after a transmission replacement you would have filled it with fresh fluid, of the correct type, which I believe is Dexron II/III.
As an afterthought - has anyone checked the selector cable adjustment?
Koolie I see the part for US$949.17. That hot if you ask me.
