What I have learned is that yes, the design stinks. Who would route the very beginning of the low pressure (cold) pipe RIGHT BETWEEN the exhaust and the radiator?! Would have been so much better to send that pipe down and under instead of up and between.
Also, I don't think we need to be insulating the high pressure (warm) return pipe. The only place I would recommend is right by the firewall, to separate warm from cold cause they're almost touching there. Everywhere else, the high and low are separated nicely.
Looks ugly as sin, but I don't mind if it gets me cold cold cold air...heh. I was seriously considering emptying the system and replacing the coolant with that Arctic Freeze stuff. But I'm not sure about laws and safety and such releasing 134-A into the air....
