Lightbulb GV Engine Swap Project?

Hello there,

I am a new member in this forum and would like to introduce myself. I have owned several vehicles before, including Suzuki Jimny and currently owning a 2011 GV with 1.6L / MT 3 door. I do most of the mods/repairs by myself without sending the vehicle to a garage (except if I dont have the equipment/device/tool to do the repair). The Jimny was converted to a beast basically, but unfortunately had to urgently sell it.

I do a lot of dune bashing and always looking to add more power and torque.

I am currently looking to swap the current 1.6L engine on the GV to the V6 3.2 engine. Due to the factor of getting really cheap V6 GVs here, I am actually looking to buy 5 door GV, and transfer the engine (after performing proper rebuild or maintenance on it). This will make it easier (as I believe so), since the ECU, cooling system, exhaust, front and rear diffs and fuel pump are available. Regarding the transmission, I have done the some research and I concluded that it will work fine and fit since its manual transmission.

Is there anyone did something similar to this swap? thoughts? recommendations? Is it worth the effort?

If it works, might be also looking to fit in supercharge/turbocharger in the future.

Thanks

A guy from this forum did a swap of the 2.0 4 cyl with the 3.2 V6 in a 3dr GV. He moved all parts, including drive line, from the 5 dr V6 into a 3dr shell. Massive job but his was the V6 auto, and your is a manual. See if you can find the thread.
