Leather Stretching Out On Luxury Gv

Anyone else have a problem with the leather stretching out on their drivers seat on their 2006 GV? I already had the drivers seat cover replaced once at 1500 miles but it only lasted about a week and now it is stretched out again. I'm guessing the other seats aren't doing it because I rarely have passengers. Anyone have any problems with their cloth seats? I've even thought about looking into what it would cost to get cloth seat covers to cure the problem. Let me know what your thoughts are.

I've got this problem with the drivers seat on ours, and I've mentioned it elsewhere on this forum. It started right after we bought it. We do use the front passenger seat almost as much as the drivers seat, and it's ok. It stretches in use, but after a few hours goes back to the original tautness. The drivers seat stays stretched. So it varies from seat to seat.

After seeing a comment elsewhere on the Internet (epinions? MSN reviews?) that someone in the US succeeded in getting one replaced (was that you?), I showed the seat to the dealer. They said only the Suzuki regional manager could authorize a replacement, and he wasn't available that day. They said they'd call me when he was available, and we'd set up an appointment with him. He must be a very busy person (sarcasm warning), since that was over a month ago, and I haven't been called.

Yeah, I posted on edmunds.com under reviews that they were going to replace it. They did with no questions asked but they said if it did it again, it probably wouldn't be warrantied. And sure enough it only lasted about a week. I have yet to point it out again. I'll try to mention it again when I'm at my dealer next time and see what they say. Hopefully they wil contact Suzuki and see if they have any fixes yet for it. I'll keep you posted.

....Finally, here's some pictures of the leather seats on our GV. This is 24 hours after anyone sat in the front seats, and 2 days after anyone sat in the back seats. The square mark in the middle of the back seat is from folding down the backrest with the center headrest lowered. Leaves a mark. Wonderful.

Looks Great, Suzuki!
