Question Suzuki XL7 engine light on, code P0008.

Hello
I have a suzuki xl7 2007. The engine light turned on a few hours ago. I took the car to jiffylube so they can tell me what the scanner said. The guy told me code P0008 is showing and that I would need to call the dealer to ask about it, but that most of the time it had to do with the EGR system. I bought my car used so it has no warranties, how much would it cost (approximately) to fix it?

You need timing chains..
What's the mileage?
That job goes for around $2500 parts and labor..
Double check your power train warranty.

The car has 81,640 miles on it. When I bought the car the dealer told me it had no warranties. By any chance do you know for how much the timing chains go for? and how many does the car need?
Sorry, I have no clue about cars.

In US the power train warranty is 100,000 miles
Or 5 years I think..

There are 3 chains, if you get all the tensioners and gaskets you're looking around $1000 in parts. Plus about 15hrs labour..
Warranty is different also depending on your location..

I believe its 7 year or 100k miles.. whatever is first. Your car is well within the warranty period and its transferable from owner to owner so you should be covered. Go to a Suzuki dealer and explain this to them and they should be able to look up your VIN to verify the warranty is still in effect

Thank you so much!
I took it to the dealer and yes it is covered under the power train warranty. I dropped off my car today, they said I would get it back in three days.
Thank you so much, I was about to buy the parts and have a mechanic fix it because I had no clue about the warranty.
Thanks again!!

I own 2 , 2008 XL7s original owner, one with 68K miles and one with 36K miles, BOTH have had this and the timing chain replaced, the 36K vehicle TWICE. Along with assorted Fuel Pump, Fuel Sensor, Rear door latch, pass window switch and oil pumps on both!... Real Winner this car
