Default 08xl7 CABIN AIR FILTER

I am trying to remove the cover to what I believe to be the cabin air filter. The fasterners appear to be rubber pull-out type, but I hesitate to pull them out without knowing for sure. Anyone know?

The problem I am trying to solve is a water leak from somewhere that wets my passenger side floor after heavy rain. I am told that there is a drain under the windshied wiper compartment that gets plugged sometimes so I am trying to get at it. Any help would be appreciated.

I went through the same hesitation when I replaced the cabin air filter. You have to pull on the center of the pins so they come out. The center of the bigger pins tend to come off completely but you can put it back in. Try to use a small flat screwdriver to pry the center of the pins up a little and work your way from there. Also, in my case it helped to google "push pins" so I could understand how they worked, its easier to remove them once you figure them out. I dont remember exactly how I googled it but it was something like plastic push pins or so. Good Luck.

There are 3 of those style of clips/pins, and two other ones that have a flat top on them and are harder to remove. You can leave those alone and just bend the cover lid slightly to gain access to the filter. Chances are the filter will be in good condition - GM actually designed this rather well. Instead of having the filter at the bottom of a long fall so EVERYTHING gets stuck in it the filter is outside of the vehicle and tilted downwards so anything that would get sucked into it falls out easily instead of sitting in the filter.
You'll see whatI mean when you et it apart.
It's hard to ruin those clips - use a pair of side cutters even (carefully) so get around the edges of the center of the clip and pry it up. It will be asier to just pull the center all the way out - the clips come out of the hole easier that way.

It's really difficult to find Suzuki TSB's but gladly Chevrolet makes them easier to find.

Attached is the fix for the "water in floor problem"

I just went outside and took pictures for you to make the spout easier to find.

You don't have to remove the cabin filter.

Good luck.

Default Water Leak

Well I did the fix to the drain thing and thought I was home free. Today, however, it is raining hard and I have a pool of water on the floor again. So, I took a tarp and covered the sun roof and it appears to have stopped the leaking. The water, incidentally, can be seen leaking down the right inside of the passenger side compartment. Does anyone have a theory on this? A fix, hopefully? Thanks.

Have you had any work done to the truck like install a roof mounted dvd player?

The sunroof doesn't seal water, it runs down through specific drain tubes.

Someone here had the same problem as you, but had a roof mounted dvd player, when the installer pulled the roof interior cover, the drain tube got loose from the sunroof frame.

No roof player, but I did find two drain holes that were plugged up... one on each side of the sunroof frame. I cleaned them out and I could hear the water rush down what I assume are the tubes you mentioned. Maybe I have solved the problem this time. Thanks.

Yes. We have had steady rain for two days and no leak whatsoever.
Thanks for the help.
