They have their strong points but obviously some weaknesses too if it is being discontinued after only a 3 year run. First of all it shouldn't have the name XL7 as it is nothing like the original XL-7. A 4x4 turned minivan.
The only issue i had was the transfercase had to be replaced due to a leak.it took 3 weeks to come in and i was not happy.it put a bad taste in my mouth about suzuki.i have less than a year on my lease and my not going to buy it out.
The current XL7 is a GM product.... Built in Canada.. Take a look at the EPA tag on the under side of the hood. Either way, GM or not, I'm sorry to see it go away, it's a great vehicle.
and sold by Suzuki. The V6 engine is built by Suzuki in Japan and it is a licensed GM design. It is shipped to Canada where it is assembled at a GM factory. GM used to have a 30% stake in Suzuki, they sold that stake and who knows what the new goverment motors (GM) is up to.
I'm sad to see the model go. I just bought my XL7 this past April, and I absolutely love it. Maybe, just maybe, GM/Suzuki will come out with another mid size SUV. Anyone know the reasons why they pulled the plug on it? I know the model has had some problems which some see as bad since it's a fairly new vehicle...or is this GM and all it's money problems? Eh...

Poor sales volume=not profitable to make them anymore.
It is a shame, being that GM 20% part-owns Suziki (auto division) and now with this economic down slope Suzuki is now has to forefeit the XL7. Although GM developed, suzuki has done a remarkeable job in tuning a GM-designed engine and hope to see the brand do a future fully developed SUV line that could well compete with the so called heavy manufacters.
