Default Bought a "technically" new 2007 XL7 Luxary

The reason i say new is that the car has had no owners and only had 2k miles on it. I was just curious if anyone else owns this year and model? If so, how has it been holding up for ya? I've only had it for a little over a week and i sure do love it. I'm planning a road trip thats from Las Vegas to Illinois. Hope this sucker is up for it

Congratulations, I (my wife) have a 2007 Luxury AWD. 2007 is the first model year and it has some teething problems like the evap leak that your dealer should be able to fix without a problem.

We did a roadtrip from northern South Carolina to Miami and back within a couple of months of buying it. Good mileage and no problems other than a check engine light because of the evap leak which the dealer fixed.

The cam phasing system of the engine doesn't like dirty oil, use synthetic oil and change it every 5k miles and you shoudn't have a problem.

If your's is AWD be on the lookout for a transfercase leak that may happen during extremely low temperatures (you are in NV, I know). Red oil in the driveway.

Other than that and a few rattles that no one else but me can hear (and I have already tracked down and fixed), the XL7 is a great vehicle at a great price.

At about 2k miles, my canister needed replacing also. Is this a known defect that others need to be on the lookout for?

Any Suzuki techs care to comment?

Thanks.

The transmission cooler lines also love to leak.

Some of the original 2007 XL7s had an issue with the fuel tank I believe but were to be inspected before they were sold.

I'm not aware of any EVAP canister issues other than the fact it sits unprotected under the vehicle and gets smashed up from road debris. I recommend building a small shield around it to protect it from impact damage as that will not be covered under warranty.
