Default 2007 XL7 urgent question

Here is my problem. When my fuel tank is full, the guage only reads half way between 3/4 and full. The range estimates about 300 miles. I have an 18.5 gallon tank so my range should read over 360 miles. When I hit empty on the guage and the light goes on, I can only add 12.5-13 gallons of fuel. So obviously my fuel guage is off.

It was at the dealer for 3.5 weeks and they finally replaced some kind of sensor after much delay. The vehicle has the same problem. Can any one of you that have the same vehicle as me answer this:

1) When you have a full tank of gas, how many miles does your range estimate that you have remaining?
2) When your low fuel indicator comes on, how much fuel does your vehicle take?
Thanks!!

When I have a full tank of gas, my range estimate is about 300. With overall 17 mpg, it is about right.

When low fuel indicator comes on, normally I can add 16 or 17 gallons.

I always hear about folks only getting 17 mpg or so. I consistently get 20-22 and I have FWD, not AWD. The strange thing about my problem is that the vehicle's estimated MPG is dead nuts to my manual checks. It's like the vehicle thinks I have about a 15 gallon tank. The dealer was rather inept so my plan is to have a 1 gallon gas can in my truck, run it dry, add the gallon then fill it up at a service station. If it takes a total of 18 gallons or so then I know it is a guage problem. If it only takes 15 gallons or so then perhaps they put the wrong take in during assembly.... ???

we had similar problem before and we found out that the fuel tank level sensor stuck somewhere inside fuel tank. 2007 xl7 (jc636) has a transfer pump inside fuel tank and uses several pipe inside of it. when you open your fuel tank check if there is some rubber o-ring on the sensor arm..
