Exclamation What am I missing

I purchased a factory navigation unit off another xl7. When I went to instal the unit, i noticed that I am missing 2 plugs. I have an '08 xl7 which has the single cd player. It has two plugs but the nav unit has 4 plugs plus the gps antenna plug. Need help in finding out what I need to fully connect the factory nav unit into mine. Thanks

I can tell you one plug..

A 16 pin plug with a Green/White wire which is your VSS wire..

But your major problem will be the plugs to place into the radio..

The other plug you need to research..

But when I get home tonite, I will look thru the plug list and see what the other one does.

Oh.. you will not have voice unless you see a mic in the top bin on roof. Depends on type of bin, with or without sunroof.

I would suggest a 3rd party unit and sell the nav unit you have..

You do not have mics for voice navigation, bluetooth options.

I have a Pioneer Z2 in my XL7 and works great. I can even tell you where to get that VSS wire as well..

Exclamation

I was thinking that one had to be the VSS wire. I found this off a wrecked xl7It only cost me 100 bucks. I dont think the girl working the counter knew what she was selling me. Anyways, where can I buy the wire? I already printed out your instructions on where to locate the wire in my xl7. I was thinking the other plug might have something to do with the steering wheel controls? I dont have the steering wheel that has the volume controls so I wonder if would work the same without that extra plug?

Cool

ok, here it is..

other than the gps connector..

The 2 plugs you have are

1:Battery, Front Speakers, Cell Mic, Antenna Enable, and Low Speed GMLAN Serial Data.
2: Remote radio audio signal, Rear Speakers, Radio audio mute..

The 2 you are missing
1 connector with Aux Audio L/R, L/R DVD Audio Sign (hot lead), Remote Infra red signal, Video Briteness, anything for the remote dvd unit.
2 connector with VSS wire Gn/Wh pin 5

Remember the nav and dvd is included with the higher priced xl7.

so,
You only need the vss wire, so grab the wire where i found it, you wont have it like i did not have it.
You can connect a mic to the one plug pin 4and ground lead of mic to pin 5. The color of wires are on the plug

1 RD/WH battery +
2 TN left front spkr +
3 TN right front spkr +
4 GY (no wire now)
5 Bare (no wire now)
6 WH antenna enable
7 PU/WH LED dimming signal
8 BK/WH ground
9 GY Left front spkr -
10 TN/WH right front spkr -
11 NC
12 NC
13 D-GN Low Speed GMLAN serial Data
14 NC

hope this helps

For the 2008 XL7, there is unique wiring content on the main body wire harness and I/P wire harness for the Nav radio option. You may be out of luck. I use a Tom Tom in my 2007 XL7.
