Hello, everybody.
I have a question about subj. In owner manual we all have following statements about it:
Quote:
Perform "Maintenance I" or "Maintenance II" when the "Change engine oil" light or "Change engine oil soon" message comes on.
Perform Maintenance I the first time this occurs; perform Maintenance II the second time. After that, alternate Maintenance I and Maintenance II
|
This statements can be also found at
official Suzuki website.
So after reading this I have bee waiting until my light came up. It was in about 9200 miles in Michigan. But when I came to dealer they were surprised that it was my first visit. After they complete maintenace they started telling me that I have to change oil every 5000 miles. Another dealer in Massachusetts start telling me the same even after he reads this maintenance schedule from the website. Because my second maintenance I did when I have about 15000 miles.
Both dealers had the same price list on the wall for maintenance every 5000 miles. So to mee it seems like they just want me come more often to change me for labor and materials more often.
After I reviewed maintenance schedule for another Suzuki models I found out that even they have about 7500 miles interval:
Here is schedule for SX4:
SUZUKI AUTO — SX4 Maintenance Schedule

So my question is: can follow instructions from owner manual and wait next maintenance until "Change oil soon" comes up or I should listen dealers and come to them every 5000 miles?
