Default Snow Tires

I want to put snow tires on my 2007 XL7 AWD. Has anyone installed winter tires and rims on their 07 or 08 XL7? If yes, what wheels and tires did you use? I'm finding that many dealers are not familiar with the vehicle although it should be able to fit wheels for Chevy Equinox and Pontiac Torrent. Any comments would be appreciated, thanks.

BTW, I'm located in SW Ont., Canada

I looked for some snow tires for the XL7 on tire rack, but I could find anything OEM sized. You'd probably have to down size, (narrower) and get steelies. Or just get some Ultra High performance all seasons.

I do have some Michelin Pilot Alpins on my Subaru Legacy and I really like them. I read some reviews on the Duelers that come on the XL7 and people said they sucked.

Yup, that's what I expected also. I'm thinking 215/70-16, most likely on steelies. I don't need to look pretty I just want to have good grip. The Duelers are not bad for all seasons however I want to have more confidence in winter driving.

I barely missed a great deal on a set of barely-used Cooper snows mounted on steel rims off of a Nissan Quest. I'm fairly sure it is the same bolt pattern.

Hello BigPaco

I would recommend winter tires from the German company Continintal their winter series called WINTER CONCACT

Continental Winter Tires

I have a Grand vitara 2006 it running with a tyre size which reads
225/70 16 "the sice the wheel of your car, is 235/65 16" so it should be ok to use them, your car will have a slightly higher leverage because they are a little wider in diameter, you will get 1 1 / 4 "more forward at each wheel rotation, it corresponds to an increase of 2.9% and it is ok .
I like ski holiday in norway winter and who do I run on snow dressed mountain roads, and have not had problems, neither with running, brake or turn.
Best regards Michael Petersen Copenhagen Denmark

That is true, unless you either move the older ones to the wheels with the snow tires or buy a new set for those wheels. You will be fine without them, nobody had them a few years ago and the world didn't end.

It's actually TPMS, Tire Pressure Monitor System. Just check your tire pressure ever so often during winter time.

Regarding TPMS and winter wheels + tires, unless you want to fork over $400 for the extra TPMS sensors, you will have to live with the TPMS warning light. The TPMS concept is crap - invented for people who are too lazy to spend a few minutes checking their air pressure and then blaming someone else when something goes wrong. I would prefer having a vehicle that does not have the system installed period. But I still love my XL7....
