Thanks man! Your instructions are very helpful, the original instructions say that the plug is located in the floor, I would have never found it without your help. Like you say, its over the headlight facing down. I didnt drilled a hole for the ground (dont like to be drilling holes in a new vehicle), but tapped the ground from the 12 volt power source (black wire) works great.

Default Does it work on 2008 XL7

I bought the same wire kit for my 2008 XL7. The tail light function is fine but brake and turn signal function is not working. Has anyone had success using this harness with teh 2008 model?

The connector is in the same location in the upper right part of the jack compartment. I used an existing threaded hole in the compartment with an
M6 screw and star washer for ground. It has good continuity to the auxillary power jack and don't suspect grounding is the problem.

Check your relays. The are in the engine compartment. They drive the brake and turn lines of the trailer harness. The markers are driven directly from the parking light circuit.

Regards,

Ivan

The relays were included with the kit and installed in the available sockets per the documentation (56 and 57, I think). I also suspected them and tested with a 12v supply and meter. They open and close as expected. I have since surrendered and ordered the official Suzuki part, $107 online. From the pictures, it appears that ground is supplied through the T connector on the new part rather than using a pig tail and lug.

thanks

Newest bulletin from Suzuki makes mention that apparently some people are installing the relays incorrectly. They advise rotating the relays since apparently they can be inserted 4 different ways. The flat part of the blades should run parallel with the fuses.

Default T-one worked out for me

I used this kit today and I thought it was a pain in the butt however, it could have been worse, like bugging off the taillights in the old days. The relays went right in and the fuses went right in, I was not able to find the "Ground screw" location, instead I bugged off the power outlet right there next to the wire harness, and I had good continuity and resistance when i metered it. It's a good kit, I think the wires could have been longer.... that's my only criticism.
